I'm just comparing it to real life, regardless of culture, things just don't normally happen like this. Junwoo's obsession for one is hella weird and illogical and yeah I know they aren't kids but they aren't children as well.

And I'm not writing the story off completely, I'm just saying some parts feel off and kinda clunky. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Based on the novel, junwoo did all of that precisely because he tried to take all of taeson's attention. He's clearly got some screws loose. All of them do. Besides, I'm making my judgement considering reviews of Korean people themselves because I can't be fully aware of what is happening in real schools. They say that bullying part is pretty accurate

Hm... I get what you're trying to say. And the fact that you've read the novel already gives your argument more validity than mine. But since this manhwa can be considered slice-of-life, then naturally, I related the outcome of things to be realistic.

My mistake was referring to the characters as poorly written because, on a closer look, I can see how their personalities mirror some human traits, especially Kangjun.

The actions, though, still make no sense to me because they feel more dramatic than natural. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right, or maybe the author purposely wanted to push things to the extreme, but I would have still preferred something a bit more... like I said, realistic.

I should have asked you before saying anything, are you talking about all of them or a particular character? Because we discussed Junwoo, Taeson is pretty much uninteresting to analyse because of the lack of his inner thoughts and motivation.
Regarding Yohan, his reasonings are spoiler-y but solidly based on his own conclusions, which are far-fetched, to say the least. I think I can say freely that he's neurodivergent as it's fairly obvious with the way he's the only one constantly playing with the ball in the classroom. In the novel it was stated that he's got adhd, but I suspect that's not all of his issues. I assume that it will take a while to actually see everything from his pov, if only adaptation team decides to change the story for the better flow, but once we get his inner monologue, it will make sense in a way.
Jun is honestly such a complex character, I find it hard to evaluate his actions. You're right, he's representing human nature with how he's trying to survive in this society. He's not someone who is at the top of the hierarchy, as he said himself, so he's desperately clinging to a golden thigh, namely Junwoo and Yohan, to stay afloat in the violent environment of boys-only school while being physically weak. I would say that the main reason he's doing everything that he does is prestige that is deeply embedded in Confucian values of South Korea. You see how he's evaluating others based on their family status, finances, their prospects.
As I stated before, I think that their actions are amplified by their young age, i.e. hormones and not fully developed frontal lobe ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Alright then, we'll agree to disagree when it comes to how we think the story should play out. I just hope the next scene won't be with Junwoo escaping the hospital and breaking into Kangjun's house with a gun or knife or some crazy shit like that (￣∇￣")

I don't think this is poorly written. If not, Jun sounds like his pride is so high that he refuses to acknowledge other people's feelings or put his shoes into someone else's. His pride is basically the sky that when he actually felt bad for Taesan, he tried to play it off as one of his "good kid" acts when he wouldn't even do something like that if he couldn’t sympathize with Taesan.


Jun's actions are confusing and sometimes infuriating because he's morally grey. Kang Jun's character is quite complex for me since I struggle to synchronise my morals with him, but I do understand what makes his thoughts like that. He was jealous, and oftentimes, jealousy drives us to think about shitty stuff
