I think she thought of him as a friend, but she hen he became obsessed with her to the point where he even prioritized her over his fiancé, which then led people to think of her as a villainess-fiancé-thief. He doesn’t hear anything she says and is obsessed with his own perception of their relationship. The only difference is having read the book, the FL knows that if she lets him keep this up she will not only lose her voice entirely, but she’ll die as well.
