Sensei makes money not only by selling manga, but also by selling accessories with our heroes. I don't think splitting them up or even being drawn into a love triangle would have a good effect on the sales of manga spin-offs. As a fan of the AHA couple, I would stop supporting because a lot of fans buy with their beloved couple, especially at reader meetings: there are usually many different accessories and posters.

They (Asami & Feilong) are never gonna be lovers because they would kill each other within a week. It would not have worked back than, it would not work today. Starting with their everyday bickering to the point that Fei Long would never have allowed Asami to do to him the kind of stuff Asami likes to do to Akihito in bed. That would never have happened!
But I stick with my three verdicts:
1) amnesia is an boring overused trope that is done badly in 99% of the cases and only because of bad storywriting. It is hard to pull it off because you can only pull it off if you do it for the benefit of the plot. But if you only do it to save a plot that got out of hand, than it never works and ends in telenovela.
2) the amnesia thing would put the story back by years, having to go through all the winning over and finally saying "i love you" once again when we were finally there. I don't get it how so many people wanted the "i love you" so much are the same that now want to rewind it back to before and one of them not remembering. This is no step ahead. It's a step backwards.
3) there is so much else going around with a "mafia war" at Asami's hands, that i can't imagine putting this into shojo "winning the princess back" is gonna improve the story. It would just draaaag it.
If you ask me - but this is wild guessing - Akihito will be out of the equation for a while because - I AM SORRY!! - right now he is just useless for the plot. This is the time for Mafia bosses, for Asami, Fei Long and Mikhail. And Akihito can stay in hospital or get on vacation with Kirishima.

The timing of MikxFei is so poor. It should have been the extra at the end of the released volume. Now it will just be overshadowed by the anxiety and disappointment of the poor ending of this arc. There isn’t any sex scenes in his volume so maybe the editor had to force one in or something.

I agree that that scene can be done without it. Based on the spoilers that I have seen, I think the author is trying to show that Fei and Mikhail with some commonality with the aftermath of confronting a family member. They are trying to 'lick each other wounds' sort of speak, but sex isn't the answer to everything.
At the same time, it's pushing the Fei x Mikhail ship a bit more. Personally, i am a bit disappointed because i would like to see Fei and Yoh more. I wonder why bother bring Yoh into the picture if he'll get discarded later. (I digress)
