reread chap 97 and jooin states, “loving someone and treasuring them are 2 different things.” through this whole story cain has made it clear that he doesn’t care what jooin does to him, as long as he can stay by his side. jooin says that cain has changed him in many ways and he wants to be a better person because of the fact cain treated him so well. then jooin goes on to say how we crave affection from pets or even humans, we all do. cain craves jooin’s affection and jooin craved cains affection. but wanting affection from someone doesn’t mean you love them… cain even stated, “i knew you never loved me.. but you still felt something for me” thus, jooin never had romantic feelings for cain. i understand where the love perspective comes from but in a realistic perspective if jooin and cain stayed together it would’ve just hurt them more. a selfish part of cain wanted jooin, to be with him regardless of how he was treated. but jooin would’ve only been hurt to see cain used in that way. so what was jooin supposed to do? let cain stay while he finds a relationship on the side? no it would’ve hurt cain. nobody wins in a relationship like that. the author made the right decision of splitting them apart. but i suppose a part of me agrees with team cain, he was a better option. nonetheless, you don’t read a love triangle and expect to be 100% happy at the end. i’m team yahwi and i could go on about how awful he WAS but i also can understand how people change. but it doesn’t make up for past actions. hopefully, a happy ending comes for cain.
