Well.. there is a big theory of her being the abusive ex of Taesoo. Many believe that may be the plot of the story and thus don’t like her character.
The theory is big because of the small details in the manwha, for example: both Taesoo and Soojung are designers - Taesoo mentioned from the start that he dated a coworker (the flashbacks looks suspicously like her too) plus that in an earlier chapter there was a designer named MoonCrystal who had a site, which is most likely the work of both Taesoo and Soojung as Moon is Taesoo’s last name and Soojung means Crystal in korean, leading to an even bigger probability that the theory might be true. Though thus far we have not recieved an ACTUAL answer from the manwha or the author directly, leaving it to be a (very highly belivable) theory.

This and the fact that it all makes even more sense now that we know about her dad. They got cought with Taesoo at work, she panicked knowing that she might lose her job because of dating a coworker (thus losing her only source of money to support herself and her father's treatment), so she pretended he assaulted her. Taesoo got fired, she gradually started to feel the pressure of supporting herself, her dad and her unemployed boyfriend, so - what I assume happened - she started treating him like shit, forcing him to leave her at some point so that she would get one burden off her shoulders. Whether Taesoo knows about her dad or not remains a mistery, though knowing Soojung, she probably didn't tell him.
The point is: she's being unreasonable with keeping his dad's illness a secret and the fact that she spends loads of money to pay for his treatment. Why would that be a bad thing? She doesn't want people's pity or is she ashamed that she has a sick parent? Whatever it is, it makes her get into lots of personal (and probably professional) trouble she could have easily avoided if she didn't act like a two-faced bitch. And I feel that she realises how stupid she is and much entwined in secrets she created herself she is, and that makes her hate herself as well.

Well.. Im not too sure about that. Taesoo mentioned that the slap wasn’t on purpose, she got startled. They could’nt stop the rumors though. So yes, Taesoo got shunned and fired because of that - it brought their workplace a bad reputation.
But he did mention her feeling bad and thus letting him move in with her.. i do not know quite what got on her nerves, if it was the stress, or the loss of money, but she somehow ended up taking that out on Taesoo. And this is nothing new, people usually do that when they can’t handle their own frustration, they blow up and take it out on stuff or people around them. It is bad i know - but natural, some keep it inside, some don’t.
I would guess that maybe something happened with her father around this time,
who knows? After a while Taesoo had enough and they broke up.

And about her being unreasonable i can understand. But some people usually don’t like talking about their relatives being on their own death bed, who would she tell that to? It is not an easy thing to talk about with just anyone. I can understand that.

And about her not liking the payment for her dads treatment can be explained:
The work of a designer is not easy, and the money she saves up for herself will be spent as quickly as it comes on her fathers treatment. Which makes it frustrating for her - having an never-ending circle of the same result. PLUS now that Mr.Hwang is in the picture and they started dating she wants to impress him, as she has mentioned.
Wanting to impress someone you like is completely understandable - to have their attention & affection. She do like Mr.Hwang alot, she even want their relationship to go further - meaning she is serious about him and not playing around as many think.
But she knows he is from a wealthy family, leaving her ashamed and insecure about her own state and how she must work hard to save money. This makes her despise her father, as his treatment is making her unable to save up money and impressing the one she loves.

Selfish many would say. Why yes, But I would say it is understandable.
I do not completely hate her character, she seemed very suspicious in the beginning ofc, But that was before we knew about her (we still are getting more information) I have come to like her, knowing that she doesnt rly want to cause as much trouble as many think is intentioned of her, plus that she likes Mr.Hwang. He is happy with her.
I do pity her though. As every character in the manwha have her own troubles and things to deal with/ or have been dealt with. So is the style of JADE. And i like it.

She is a hard character to reach out to. But with time i learned. :)
