I have up to 13 volumes that were translated in English from Amazon but after that they didn't translate them anymore up to Volume 22. Why start to do this and not finish it? They do continue to translate Sekaiichi Hatsukoi which I also collect.
You're talking about the physical manga volumes, right? Well, what happened with Junjou Romantica is that it was licensed by Tokyo Pop (imprint-Blu Manga), but their company closed, thus Junjou Romantica was dropped. Sekaiichi Hatsukoi was picked up by a Viz Media imprint (SubLime). So published by different companies. Now Fans have been begging SubLime to pick up JR, but they have claimed they won't, b/c it's too long.
Now when they picked up SH, they didn't know it was going to be this long. It's basically b/c they believe long series will not sell well. And yaoi doesn't get the numbers quite as well as say Shounen. So basically it's about money and it not selling. There was a whole conversation about this on Twitter, I don't even if it still exists though. But JR through viz media (sublime) is a no go.
I think their argument is so stupid on why they won't pick it up. Because SH is long as well and people are buying it. And I feel like JR is the #1 Yaoi Title. I mean, JR is the reason why I read BL. First title that got me into the genre. And I know it's the same for a lot of others. I think the only hope for this to happen if another publishing company did it. Some other companies are starting to publish BL now, so hopefully, but doubt it will happen.
It makes no sense at all. Whenever you see anything for JR it literally says top and bestselling series. There's no way this would not sell especially with how many people have been begging for it to be relicensed. Whenever they are readying new title announcements people scream Junjou Romantica please! And they're response, no, not happening! So annoying! I started with the anime (S1) and loved it and had to wait for S2 so I went to read the manga and thus begun my yaoi/bl obsession. It's absolutely ridiculous that the #1 bestselling yaoi title is not licensed in the US.
my collection is rather extensive, in yaoi, manga, and anime dvd's alike.
i get super irritated when i can't get ahold of an entire seires.
no. 6 on dvd. can't find it for cheap for years now.
secret xxx came out this year, for such a small window, i coulnd't get it in time.
pre-order twittering birds/ yashiro and doumeki. <3
I have the manga for No 6. I have quite a few favorites: Hidoku Shinai de, Mo Dao Zu Shi, Deliverance of the Counterattack, Haru o Daite Ita & Haru o Daite Ita Alive (only translate once in a while), Ameiro Paradox, Finder, Given, Gravitation (Loved this), Hitorijime My Hero, Koisuru Boukun, Punch Up series, and especially "Kuroneko Kareshi series". I LOVE HUMOR.
<3 LOVE all these!!
(excited for a new don't be cruel english release in a week. -plus volume 2 will be out.)
the amount of love i have for deliverance of the counter attack XD One of my new faves!!!
(i probably own 250-350 yaoi manga in paperback.-in english.)
my recent fave i bought and added, to take an enemys heart.
I love watching Maya and Nemugasa grow in their relationship and love. Maya has become such a decent and loving partner now and I wish Nemu would become secure in his relationship with Maya or have more confidence. You can see it in Maya's eyes the love he has for Nemu and we all know it was Nemu's influence that changed Maya's bad habits.
That is why I also love "Haru o Daite Ita" I loved watching Iwaki and Kato's love grow. I loved their wedding scene also. I love to watch love growth. My favorite parts with barely any drama to them.
i lvoe nemu and maya. i also have a big soft spot for akira and naoya! <3
iwaki and katou, my true yaoi love. there is no rape, no blackmail. they respect each other. they respect and support the others career. they trust each other to handle certain situations on their own strength. but also aware their partner is right there if they need a gentle hand to catch them. they are also switch, seke, which i love. they are so unique, and i really love them.
(two other good ones : Rutta to kodama. and neko x neko.)
I am currently watching the anime on YouTube and love it. The art is amazing and Season 3 will be out this year. I am also currently reading the manga on Youtube which has 177 episodes so far. Now they only question I have if anyone else read more chapters... Does Wen/Mo die for a second time by his brother??? Please let me know. I am way behind in the reading part, lol
Here is the info so far: A new trailer for MDZS > https://myanimelist.net/anime/40434/Mo_Dao_Zu_Shi_3rd_Season
They don't have an exact date yet but sometime in 2021
In YouTube for the Manga type in> Mo Dao Zu Shi (MANGA) [CHAPTER 1 to 177]
I also just started reading the "Novel" also. It does explain things where I got confused. But, I wanted to know if Mo/Wen's brother killed him. They said he had something to do with it.
Mo Dao Zu Shi (MANGA) [CHAPTER 1 to 177]. There are 50 episode on the "Drama" which i am also watching, that and you can find that on YT. I just wish they had the Japanese 'Sub" version out on the anime and the "Drama" which i am also watching. For some reason it is harder to watch the Chinese versions since they talk so darn fast. Plus the Chinese won't show so much because they are against showing homosexuality. I read about the reviews on that.
I wish they would have made this into an ANIME. It would have been so good, cute, and heartwarming. They never make anime's on Omegaverse's.
