wolfgang would be MUCH better at going to that city than shin. wolfgang was born and raised from the streets: he got streets smarts. shin is more book smart and he may try to avoid conflict, but it may come to him anyways. plus, he’s sick so he should stay at the kingdom and rest.
this chapter got me HYPED again like FINALLYYYY some development like all we’ve been getting is fillers but NOW??? NOW we are getting some DRAMA
after all my years of reading yaoi i think im finally hitting the point where i do not want to read any manga that romanticizes rape in it lol. that first chapter was literally so gruesome... like it even has him saying a lgbtq+-directed slur which is SO new ... can someone tell yaoi manga authors they can have a plot without rape.
here’s the thing...
i disliked this story for a number of reasons.
1) i feel like the big brothers shouldve sat their little bros down and had a discussion with them about their relationship and what it means to love someone of the same gender. it was so irresponsible for them to be like “yeah i had sex with your best friends brother if you tell anyone I’ll kill you” like??? bro ur bro thought of u as straight ur whole life and then u come out as gay and ur first choice is to THREATEN HIM???
2) the uke was obviously struggling with his own sexuality and that shit is never easy. as someone part of the lgbtq+ community, i understand how it feels to have an internalized struggle of “who do i like” especially because it doesn’t fit with the society i live in. even now, it’s hard to talk about my sexuality because it doesn’t fit the “status quo”. i wish that he made another friend that he can talk about this with instead of relying on himself and his emotions.
3) the woman wasn’t that bad ngl. like it’s wrong to lie about pregnancy but i can see where she’s coming from. he wasted not only his time, his crush time, but HER time by not telling her that he’s not in love with him. the easier route would’ve been for them to be mature and talk it out but of course the author needs angst scene. i hate how everyone’s hating on her because her reaction was actually understandable. it doesn’t make it excusable, but i can understand it.

I definitely agree on the first point. I think if the older brothers had a conversation about how it's okay to love who you want, the uke wouldn't have had such a hard time coming to terms with his sexuality

im really starting to hate how normalized raping rix is in this story lol. ive read a ton of stories, but this is the first one where it seems to be a constant theme and the main character doesn’t even seem effected by it. i love the story but hate how the subject of rape is always being used and there seems to be no actual consequence for it, because readers that may have went through that may feel angered or traumatized.
