Then she has memory loss.. the prince feels like she should be scared of him but says she doesn't remember that incident.. a little too convenient don't you think? Did the prince actually kill the mother?! Or hurt her or something?
Because fuck him even more if he did, there is 0% chance he is redeemable at all if he did.

I went through a period where I had a dream very similar to this, and the loneliness and desire to escape for nature are dead on.. I'm glad he found what he was looking for, what he had been warring with, the terrible beauty of his dream realized and warmth of friendships and family.
You know I read this for the pretty art and thought it was cute but that last chapter... (⊙…⊙ )
