If someone pretended to love me for that long just to "pay a debt" and robbed me from being in a relationship with a person who actually loves me for who I am not cuz he feels indebted to me I'd be furious and heartbroken, she has every right to feel mad

She has indeed the right to feel mad but I think you are exaggerating. He didn't rob her of anything. He did everything he could to make her happy, rven if it was at the expense of his own happiness.

Nah i agree. As far as she was considered, she was in a happy loving relationship. It's not like he hated her. He actually cared for her and was thankful to her. He said it himself love comes in different shapes.
But I'm also kind of confused by his actions. He was dating her and was very ready to even marry her, despite not feeling love in this relationship of 6 years? I'm suspecting this dude had some ulterior motives because no sane person would do that. Which in that case he indeed would turn out a liar and the bad guy

Exactly, I also can't understand how there are people defending him, and still saying that she was happy until she found out is like saying that a person who was cheated on doesn't have the right to feel hurt for having been deceived simply because before finding out she was happy with that person. Literally NO ONE said she doesn't have the right to be hurt. You all are ignoring the fact that she is ACTIVELY trying to hurt him back. When she is supposed to be an ADULT. Sure, if I was in her position I would be hurt but I wouldn't act like how she does. I understand where he is coming from, and I think you people are making it a bigger deal then it actually is.

Well the poster said they felt it was equivalent to saying she didn't have a right to be hurt. That's their opinion that they are stating.
And I don't think she is trying to hurt him back, I think she's trying to get him back. That's my opinion. She will def. change tho, but I think that was the impetus.

Lastly, I wouldn't act like her character is acting either, but it's a story about a character that would act that way as a plot device to carry the story along.
I always feel like art is made to move the viewer/listener/reader... and that's what is happening here, people are moved emotionally to respond to this story.

I agree with you, and I don't think she's trying to hurt him, initially when she broke up she wanted him to feel hurt like she did, but it's just because if he felt that way then she would know that he really cares about her and not that he was with her out of obligation, and now she's trying to do the same, prove to herself that he really feels something for her through this fake relationship.

I never said you said that, but you yourself said that you thought her reaction was exaggerated, I was just explaining why I don't think it was, since you don't seem to understand her reasons. Yes, she was happy with him before, but if he didn't really love her then he should have been honest so that she would have the opportunity to find someone who really loved her and not deceived her for 6 years. Now she wants to know if he really loves her, that's why she made all the drama with the breakup and now pretending to have a new relationship, if she had been honest she probably would never have found out.
