I don’t really understand why yuri is so mad about the question if beauty was really important, i can’t remember the exact question but it seem kinda unreasonable to be that mad. You can correct me if I’m wrong but it seem kinda normal for questions like that if you work in that profession?

I myself am what you could call a walking potato sack, I try to look decent but I never put much effort in my clothing choices for various reasons, so I can see where he was coming and I also agree with the fact that her reaction could seem a bit excessive, but at the same time I think it was just perfect for this scene, the impact of her reaction just showed how much something he considers trivial is important to her, basically all her profession revolves around the concept of beauty.
