Seriously stories should stop giving bad image about churches or holy organizations it's making me really stop believing in anything religious. Or maybe it's the same or similar in real life? Religion is another form of politics, wants power to control people

Unfortunately, yes, this is true in real life too... though not all religious institutions or even all the people within are bad but there are enough of them throughout history. It shouldn't make you stop (or start) believing in the religion itself, but just to be wary about what messages are being communicated, who communicated them, and the intentions behind them. It's not the religion in itself is bad, but the people in positions of power that twist and manipulate religion to their greed/fear/delusion. It is no different from school systems that teach selective history to manipulate/mold students so that the people in power can control the next generation instead of educating students on full and true history and letting students decide for themselves what is wrong or right.

Lol it is heavily exaggerated for the most part but depending on where you live this may be a reality. But Korean and Japanese comics tend to portray them oddly so I wouldn't go near it at all of you wanna discuss the impact of theology. Essentially manwhas just want to have a "corrupt" power involved and when it comes to European themed stories religion fits the bill

Skorea has a lot of churches and a lot of christian believers. some of them are more like cults or practice satanism, sadly those churches are also backed politically. one famous celebrity pastor has thousands of listeners and he says that on his death day he will take 1400 with him to heaven. there was also that incident where a ferry sunk right in front of a harbor and U.S. and other countries offered their help but korean officials just refused and let the passengers (most of them were students) drown or die while trapped inside. It’s one of the saddest stories I’ve heard, honestly there are even more sad things about this ferry incident but I don’t want to give depression to others.

I mean considering that this manhwa seems to mimic our world a couple hundred years ago, religious institutions actually were like this at many points in history. Christianity has a long and brutal history of murder, imprisonment, and mass murder all in the name of purifying the world (such as witch hunts, the Spanish Inquisition, and so on) and spreading their religion. What you see in this manhwa isn't actually far off how religious institutions in the past functioned.

In modern-day, christianity has taken a serious hold in South Korea. Many Christian groups in the country violently reject anything that goes against their Christian values. There was an incident when I lived there, religious protestors barricaded the Incheon pride festival, trapped festival goers in the venue for around 8 hours and refused to let anyone leave (there were first-person accounts from festival goers that people were fainting due to the heat and lack of ability to get water because they couldn't leave). Police in Incheon barely did anything to help the situation. The Christian protestors became violent at certain points, and it was all together am incredibly saddening day. I would have been at that festival had I not gotten sick that weekend.

Korea also has the biggest pay gap between men and women in the developed world, and even liberal presidents such as the current one, Moon Jae In, can't make any big changes due to the huge influence Christian groups have in the country.

I know all Christians are not like this, but what I'm saying is that the portrayal in this manhwa is not far off of what the history of religion has been like in our world.

actually if you go far back in history, u will find many instances of the churches exploiting their power and doing many disturbing things as they sometimes even held more power and influnence than the kings, so since this manhwa seems to be based around the renaissance era according to the fashion in it, it's is actually quite a reasonable representation of the church during those times
