She was chill and didn’t mind it at all at first when FL was neutral during him being around, but as soon as she saw her happy- she decided to be negative. She switched up. She also went on for way TOO LONG and unnecessarily added shit. She easily could’ve been like, “it’s kinda suspicious, be careful.” And that’s it, instead of talk about how much he could do better than her.

She was perfectly fine with the idea BEFORE. She didn’t give af even when he walked into the store every day. It’s only when the FL had some damn life in her eyes for the first time, that she suddenly wanted to switch up and then put her down. Regardless there’s a clear difference between saying stuff cause you’re suspicious and want the acquaintance to be careful vs listing reasons why he would never be serious about you and negatively talk about you.

If she was this way from the start, then I would get her concern, it’s just MORE odd that out of all times, she chose to act like this once the FL didn’t look dead.

Anyways the “she’s concerned” argument doesn’t make sense in this case. If you reread the chapter, you can see the coworker literally brings it up first and says maybe he likes the FL and also points out all the things he does. But as soon as FL laughs along, she takes the smile off her face and then says the FL is funny and then proceeding to say that there’s no way he would like her. This was most definitely not out of concern, no human being with common sense would put someone down to make that point

she brings it up because she thinks he's weird and is just laying it out for FL, kind of like brainstorming, and throws out a "maybe he likes you" as a joke then when FL starts believing it she's like "oh". it really is not as deep as everyone is making it. "why is he weird? maybe he likes you? wait... you're married you shouldn't be getting excited, there's no way he'd actually like you i was fucking around" that's literally all there is to it if you still don't understand where i'm coming from let's just agree to disagree...

If you’re gonna be talking about the story, please do the fact checking lmao. That’s what you WANT her to think and say. The chapter is literally there for you to reread. You’re ASSUMING her reasoning is that she’s married. All the reasons she listed off showed no concern about her married, she didn’t say that even once. All she said was that she’s old, he could get any girl he wants, he comes from a different world, there’s no way he’d like you.

You’re making up reasons the coworker never said lmfao. That’s the reasons you made up, she had no issue with the marriage stuff. She was egging it on multiple times.

If you’re gonna be disagreeing with someone, you can’t just defend your points based on what you wish is their intent LOL. It just shows that majority of the readers remember the scene correctly and understood her intent, and you didn’t. You only hold out the hope she’s good based on what you would do.
