Please, someone just take Kenichi and Ranzo the fuck out of there, NOW! I don't give a shit about the rest, they can all rot for all I care, but I want Ranzo and Kenichi safe! Please please please !!!!!!!! ( ╥﹏╥ ) (/TДT)/
I agree! That poor innocent girl, I feel like her fate is sealed. At least Ranzo has Kenichi looking out for him, but she doesn't have anybody looking out for her. It would be somewhat of a twist if Ikuro fell in love with her and ended up rejecting Norihiko, which wouldn't be good either because that would definitely drive Norihiko over the edge. At this point, it doesn't look good for any of them! ( ╥﹏╥ )
So, like everyone else, I was brokenhearted when I first read Itou-san, and continued to be throughout the hundreds and hundreds of subsequent reads!, but after reading episode 0, I don't feel as pessimistic anymore, but hopeful and elated. So it turns out that both Kyosuke's and Itou's destiny has been intertwined for longer than we thought, as if it was fated for them to meet and from that moment they have felt (independently) attracted to each other. The first time I finished this story, I was bawling my eyes out thinking it was fucking cruel how Kyousuke lost his memories of Itou, but now I realize that it doesn't matter. The "boss" is no longer a threat, and Kyousekey's and Itou's emotional connection is still there at the subconscious level, and will always be there. It is only a matter of time for Kyousekey to recuperate his memory; and even if he doesn't, again, it doesn't matter, because he's going to fall in love with Itou again, over and over and over; it's inevitable for the two of them to gravitate towards each other. So at this point I'm happy with the ending. Because of episode 0, instead of interpreting this as sad or melancholic, I now view it as a sign of hope, the promise of a new beginning, their shot at the happy ever after they deserve so much...shit, now I'm crying cause I feel happy at that thought...fuck, there's no escaping the feels on this one! (/TДT)/
Beautiful art and engaging, but unfortunately, the plot feels disjointed with a drastic time skip that pretty much goes unexplained, and it also feels incomplete as all the characters are still experiencing some type of emotional turmoil and the story ends without any of them reconciling those feelings of doubt.
I would also argue that, even though it is obvious that Asahi loves Rei, he may harbor feelings for Seita that are more than just friendship, and Rei realizes this and that is the source of his anxiety. That time that Asahi got drunk and stayed over at Seita's, his drunken/unconscious actions might have given us a glimpse of his deeper feelings for Seita, even if Asahi is not conscious of it. I do recognize that his concern for his friend that night may have only been motivated by their bond of friendship and nothing else, but when Asahi got out of Rei's car to go back to Seita's apartment in his drunken state, that right there makes me think what he feels for Seita is a bit more than just the regular love one has for a friend, and both Rei and Seita interpreted that action the same way. That's why since that night, Rei feels so anxious and Seita more determined to "passively" sabotage their relationship. In conclusion, the Mangaka should not have left such an important conflict unresolved.
On a final note, I have to say that I love stories where the Mangaka draws the characters in their older mature state. I just love to see that physical difference as it gives the story a more natural continuum feel.
I know my suspension of disbelief must be left at the door when it comes to Yaoi, but both of their reactions were too atypical, too nonchalant. I mean, I was really expecting for both of them to be shocked and tortured by the fact, but the way they reacted felt too out of place. Points though, for the beautiful art and sexy factor, the uke is exceptionally beautiful :D
Just fucking shoot me already, instead of the mindbreak tactics... (#-.-) (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
