The way the characters are drawn in the original makes them seem older.
It seems like the characters seem longer and taller. They seem less like boys in this new season. The art is more obviously "Romantic" i feel.
I was getting annoying that yoomin was gone for so long but I was happy he had a cute ending.
But overall I feel like it ended too quick! Characters just disappeared for too long who were introduced in the beginning.
The blue haired guy took the evil bitch and left...I wanted some more closure with him..I guess they broke up?

Aerak and blondie's ending was eh... It was a cute dream he had about them being old but its really unsatisfying that they never made him address how terrible he was to him before. Seems like a very shallow relationship.
Aerkks friend...the guy with red and black hair....just disappeared after asking his bro to introduce him to girls. It's a very sad ending and I wish the author could have tied him up somehow.
The ex president and yuri's friend...it seems that went nowhere too.
Of course Yuri and the MC are together forever.

Did you try this? It's so fluffy goddammit. My god I love it I love it I love it. This story along with never understand and unripened expression have basically sealed the deal that my true weak spot is for adorable art, fluffly characters and cute humor.
I suppose then I should be looking more in shounen ai? I don't mind Yaoi but they seem to be too quick and the character look very elongated and weirdly proportioned.

Plus, the art style just added SO GOOD to how sweet & fluffy the story was!! You seem to be right that the best ones are buried and you have to look unless its super popular. My preference is always fluffy shounen ai esque manga that melts my heart. But honestly I can tolerate "smutty" material if the art is different from the yaoi long weird people.
But man that guang_xiang style of art is just so clean and bubbly I love it!
