I honestly have no idea where the author plans on taking this story. I think they will not be making it a love triangle since the focus is on friendship ofr the most part and making a love triangle would just ruin the friendship aspect the author created

I hate the rape fests but I also think this is pretty badly written. I didn't think that at all in the beginning but it's gotten worse the closer we get to the end. Perhaps the novel is really well done...idk because I've never read it. But this webtoon has been poorly executed. Anyway, it wasn't bad enough to make me stop reading it. I know I am being nitpicky and all but I don’t like it when male leads have no other personality trait except their love for the mc. Like I love male leads who are SIMP but there's gotta be more to him other than the fact that he is in love with the mc yk. Otherwise the story just gets boring
But we’ve just seen his steadfastness and his bravery? especially how he confronts the emperor and tries to even push forward with a plan to usurp the empress? Shouldn’t we then infer that he’s also a theorist? All qualities of a decent leader? But then we see that he’s willing to discard all that for MC to rise to his rightful throne (he’s also selfless too)
Plus we see that he has a large group of loyal followers he encountered in his travels of being a war hero for the empire (meaning he also does his public responsibilities well r regardless of gain or notoriety)
But yeah I can see how that may be one dimensional for you but for me I see that if he was in the real life world he’d be a great friend to have ╥﹏╥
Imo it’s the fact that every other part of his personality is derived from the fact that he loves MC and is willing to do whatever he can to protect him. It’s kinda like the author rewarding the mc with a prize after all they put him through

That’s a valid critic! I think lots of BL stories often fall into this trope because it’s easier to write off a character intentions when it could be seen as solely for the MC
In this case I say it kinda makes sense realistically why that is the case.. the first person the ML had seen who show earnest care for him as an individual was the MC. So I can see why his attention and dedication to him is so prevalent in the story! I don’t see it as a bad thing but yeah sometimes in other stories it can definitely be lazy or one dimensional writing
