I’m pretty sure it’s normal. Just check the date the chapter was released so you don’t re-read.
IT HAPPENED TO ME TOO NO NOTIFS, I forget too read em because I cant manually check every single one
it does that for everyone, a notification should be sent after a day of the chapter being uploaded i think
When you rate the Manga there is a commentary box I always write the last chapter I've read in it. That way I know where I've stopped.
Any manga released/updated today will give you the notification tomorrow
