I cant understand why Mikasa and Armin refused to notice/acknowledge changes in Eren
Was Eren that unapproachable?
This is a case of a realistic relationship. Mikasa and Armin saw Eren in this heroic light. Mikasa always remembers the time when Eren wrapped the scarf around her but refused to remember the moment when he brutally murdered 2 men. It’s hard to accept it when your friend changes so much. Eren was depressed and in pain and Mikasa and Armin didn’t want to face that Eren has a darker side, he has that dichotomy of kindness but also extreme cruelty. They finally learn and realize their mistakes and blame themselves, but only when it was too late and Eren was irredeemable. They hope to talk to him and remind him of his humanity to make him stop.
Humans are complex, layered creatures (esp Eren lmao I feel like 99% of the fanbase totally doesn’t get him), war and suffering peals off a lot of layers that otherwise would never have appeared. And it’s truly almost impossible to perfectly get someone.
They finally actually understand their closest friend, but tragically late.

Im amazed by the fact that falco can fly. I mean, it takes him about a day or few to realize the fact that his titan can fly and he just.... did it. Meanwhile, other titans required training to get accustomed to their titan. Im impressed, falco.
