Okay so I just read DMIYC, I was excited to share with you what I found there.
Since I felt like I was disturbing the og commenter of that post with a lot of notifications when I was conversing with/discussing with/annoying/disturbing you. I luckily found your post.
*spoiler* Everyone except Grayson's mother, Konner hates Koi.
Ok and about the first discussion. Konner loves his children very much, we don't know why Chase and his relationship soured. Probably because father's negligence caused them to not see mother's love or something. I don't know. Or maybe because Konner seemed to care about Grayson to Chase. We'll probably know later.

As for Ashley, You were almost right. Ashley is not a psycho, but he does have thoughts like that once in a while that's why he hates himself. Since he hates himself so much he also kind of maybe couldn't bring himself to dot on children who resemble him so much. Which not cool, man should have gone to therapy. Well he still tries to helps his sons with materialistic things or things which can be done by money and power.

I guess we also got some insights why Chase was called mad dog and Grayson is just called scoundrel of Miller family. If you are curious, I totally tell you my theory my many more discoveries. I can also tell you some of Grayson's suffering if you want, mf is a pure evil bro. I want him to bottom even if he is dom alpha. I have an entire emotional torture planed related to that lol.

all the alpha’s fucked up personality could be attributed to the fact that they have a hard time feeling emotions like a normal person. like what was said in the novel, alphas, especially those who manifest early on, are like pseudo sociopaths with how repressed they are emotionally. not to mention their almost inherent quality of self-loathing, especially in chase and ash’s case. but what’s worse is that it became a cycle of abuse in the miller family. and i’m happy to see that chase is willing to end that cycle of abuse with how doting and understanding he is of his children. chase is rlly just a special case, because although he shows emotions differently like a typical dominant alpha, he still feels emotions especially as a child despite manifesting, he’s more in tune with his emotions compared to kids older than him at that time. the abuse just stunted his emotional growth.

but his father and grand parents’ issues were never resolved, and that resulted in offsprings that are already so emotionally repressed because of their manifestations + they had gone through neglect that just worsened them tbh.

despite chase’s mother being decent, the novel showed that he wasn’t decent enough to take initiative in protecting chase. when chase’s pet died, he recalled that his mother didn’t ask what was wrong with him. i guess that was enough for a child to feel that no one in his family understands him. it was a very sensitive time for a child so i also understand why chase felt so alone at that time.

all in all, i understand why they all became like that. with how alphas and omegas are wired, i also understand how they could, especially alphas, only fully feel emotions with their partners, but don’t have the ability to extend them to their children because of 1) their genes 2) cycle of abuse.

Oh Thanks for the long explanation lol. But why is the world building so cruel. I thought Koi wasn't present when his bird died. Tbh my mom wouldn't care either. And I was reading all of the things Grayson did to Chase. Since he has no feelings Ig he heard his friends talking about what they do with their siblings (like wrestling and play fighting) and tried it with Chase. Lil Chase who was not used to it was overwhelmed by it. I mean who would like their peace being disturbed.(I mean when I was 1 or 2, I used to throw anything I found on my big bro but he used to spare me since I was a baby). My brother still teases me with 'hey adopted', so maybe Grayson also kept going ahead with the dogs as joke. I mean Grayson wouldn't know when it got excessive. Well alot of questions can be answered on why he did that. Although he might not have bad intentions but the damage was done anyway. I am not defending Grayson or anything but I'm trying to theorise what could have happened. I usually have a positive outlook of the world yk.

yes, grayson usually just imitated others. that extends to emotions and actions. since he’s branded like a pseudo sociopath like all dominant alphas, he has a hard time trying to feel emotions on his own, that’s why he relies on imitating others. the problem is that he himself didn’t know that that much teasing is already too much for little chase. this whole “sociopath” imitating others’ feelings and emotions works so well when discussing grayson’s character because his faux concern and love towards chase had been damaging instead. because he never knew how to show concern in a way that will help his siblings, he only knew how to show concern the way others do and he ended up always imitating them like it’s a one-for-all solution.

i also get sibling banter, that happened to me to when i was young and growing up with 3 brothers. it’s a mess. but the difference was there were genuine feelings and empathy. but grayson had never known empathy. but who knows! like i said, josh hinted that grayson is slowly learning how to feel emotions by himself, because if you imitated emotions long enough, you’re bound to feel emotions on your own. we might see grayson finally understanding empathy on his own (while he gets on with dane) and understand that his actions toward chase had been terrible. He might understand that he lacks empathy, and that resulted in fucked up actions toward his siblings despite his good intentions.

sure but i’m sorry because this summary will focus on he tian and momo because they got more going on in the christmas special.

basically, on one christmas night, while momo was working late, he tian surprised him and asked why he’s working on christmas eve. momo was surprised because he tian had gone for so long by this time. he tian was being clingy and affectionate as always, while momo was being avoidant (?) while being bullied by he tian. they went to this party and momo got shitfaced drunk talking about chicken dick is back, he still hasn’t grasped the fact that he tian is finally back after so long (i think), and he tian brought him back to his apartment and gave him a box of condom as a gift, but inside was a ring if irc. momo was rlly emotional and they cuddled

jian yi and xixi were also spending christmas together in the specials

Yup! That's pretty much it. Although I don't remember He Tian saying he would be away "for two days"; his disappearance was post 3rd year of high school (as his student card here suggests) so we haven't even gotten close to what his parting words to Mo would be, from what I remember.

when he tian escaped from his brother and was hiding from him in chapter 440! he tian took momo into the woods to say that he was going away for 2 days. that was one of the last episodes from that timeline i think. so i thought that was the author telling us that that was the only thing he tian told momo before going away.

Now, technically, you could be right and wrong.
This line is said while they are still in middle school-- but the current chapter shows a 3rd year high school student card, which would be 3 years apart from that, and theoretically means that He Tian was around until then...but it could be a mistake in the translation, maybe, or Old Xian could be trying to rectify precious mentions of them in middle school as being high-school (which would lead to a nasty problem in the storyline, but alas). I feel like this realy does fit as a way to transition into the future where it has been *way more than 2 days*, but the timeline we have so far wouldn't fit 100%. Maybe He Tian went off and disappeared a bunch of other times? And Mo was especially mad this time because it was the one time he wasn't notified? Who knows!

I guess we'll only know for certain after a few chapters (RIP)

i’ve seen translation confuse middle school and high school in china or foreign countries, or they use them interchangeably at least so i kinda see that happening. i also agree with the second part bc old xian has gotten inconsistent with the story so we’ll never know!

now i’m rlly confused when he tian and jian yi went off the grid because i reread a couple of chapters in the beginning where zheng xi said that jian yi went missing during their 2nd day of highschool. now i’m confused whether jian yi went missing for a long time a couple of times, or this was the long hiatus with he tian that is kind of the most important plot device in the series.

XiXi says that when Jian Yi went missing that day, he thought he'd never see him again, and we jump back to XiXi being in university-- so I think it's fair to assume he was gone for 3 or 4+ years, but how long exactly is hard to say because we're not really given anything to compare with. They spend at least some time together before *that* Christmas, though; so they've met and have been together (at least in a friendly way lmao) before He Tian's comeback, since he specifically comes back during Christmas (ch224). So I don't think their "disappearances" (so to speak) are tied to one another.
Their families for sure have a shady business transaction going on, but I think it's safe to say the two of them "come and go" independently

OOOOH okay! i was really under the impression that he tian’s “business” was just taking over his brother’s business so in my mind, that extended to helping jian yi with his family matters. but thank you for this! if i think of their parting that happened separately, the timeline makes more sense. i wish old xian would release more chapters about their parting, both he tian and jian yi’s, to clear things up more. thank you so much!

While He Cheng (and his father by extension) seems to work closely to "Mr. Yi", it's not clear what exactly his father wants He Tian to do. From what I can gather from their "mafia-esque" style, he probably wants to teach He Tian how to run their whole operation (being the head/the boss)-- which would mean helping protect Jian Yi, technically, but probably doesn't mean he will be as physically involved in that as, say, one of the men that would work for him.

They also probably manage other "non-shady" businessess (hence the horrendous amount of wealth) and I think that's what He Tian has his eyes on, since he talks about being able to provide for Mo, and this would be the safer way to do it
