If a person reacts to a FICTIONAL character like this what makes u think they won’t react this way to a real child, the more your brain gets used to thinking like that the line between fictional and not gets blurred and you end up feeling that way abt a real child.
no… normal people are able to differentiate between a fictional middle schooler that is literally posed as an antagonist in the story and an actual kid. for example! i have a little brother and sister that i adore to death. they do selfish, stupid, and rude things 99% of the time, but i am never going to say hateful or harmful things to them because they are children and children dont know. that doesnt mean i dont reprimand them or teach them to be better; if i dont, theyll probably grow up to be selfish and rude adults. in this story, i think people are pissed about the fact that raika isnt getting scolded at all. not to mention she is a CHARACTER that was literally written to be an antagonistic.
Yes and I’m glad you are a normal person bc I’m also around younger children all the time and yes it should be easy to draw the line between fictional and not, that message is for the people who need to hear it and see if because I have seen people act way too hateful towards kids recently and as someone who works with them it’s hard to see. I don’t want anyone to turn their thoughts towards a fictional character and project them to a real child. I do understand what you’re saying and you’re right bc I did feel obviously a little mad at what she said to the teacher, but I didn’t type out what I was thinking, because it’s not that serious, and It didn’t change my view of children either, but Sommer of these comments are concerning because I have seen first hand at how media can change peoples thoughts towards real people. Yeah I’m a normal person and able to do differer the lines, still wouldn’t say weird shit about being violent to a kid or call them a bitch fictional or not. If anything it seems not normal to act like that towards a fictional kid like if you go to a random person on the street and talk about enacting violence on a kid and say “it’s ok it’s a fictional kid!” The person will most likely still look at your weird

while i agree that the few people getting overly mad at raika and saying that theyre going to smack her r strange, its so obvious that most of the commenters that r annoyed at raika are exaggerating and would probably never do that in real life. i just thought that the og comment was exaggerating a bit by implying that people insulting an antagonist in a fictional story r an irl danger to kids. like child abuse is serious and horrible and comparing these commenters to actual abusers is kind of baffling to me
No definitely, there’s a big difference between being annoyed and then wanting violence. I think it’s more that in my experience people who talk about fantasies of hurting kids turn out to be not good people like I had a ex who would make weird ass jokes about wanting me to hit kids with my car or punching the kids at my work when I was overwhelmed by them…. And raika even though fictional just acts slightly different from a normal kid, I was a ass at this age and my brother who is at this age is a ass as well (bro tried to steal one of my cigs recently) the only slight difference is of course her being a drawing and having a maybe brother complex tho it just seems more like she’s jealous that her brother might be taken away. (I’m so sorry for this long ass rant, I just like to yap sometimes )
