Especially now with all these novels and manhwa's coming out that have ridiculous age gaps (I read one with an 18ish years age gap) so yeah not terrible plus the love doesn't actually develop until she's in her 20s.ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

"U keep comparing real life vs romance novels " is basically the answer to all the issues you find in this (and similar) comics.

It's a fantasy novel...talking about someone that loves fantasy novels...which got reincarnated into a fantasy novel. There is bound to be screwed up or at least non-realistic behavior and reasoning.
And besides all that being an issue already, most of these novels aim for people with an unrealistic view on life (or love too, really). So it's not surprising that everything is twisted and turned into this specific mold to satisfy a certain type of audience.

I totally understand where you're coming from, not gonna lie. I'm often annoyed by these cliche 'plot twists' and drama arcs that pop up way too often. They are predicatable, boring and overdone but pretty much every author does them anyway (I'm too tired to even complain about it at this point since this is a shoujo-problem anyway and just happens way to often).

All in all, I think this type of story panders more towards people that just like the innocent, naive and somewhat nonsensical type of lovestory that's simply based on wishful thinking. Kinda like a dream come true story of a young teenage girl who just doesn't care about things being realistic as long as they are enjoyable (especially if you view it as a self-insert type of thing I suppose).

I think these stories, and types of characters, CAN very well be enjoyable for many or maybe just as a change of pace for some others but I can fully see how they might be dislikable (logic issues, unreasonable behavior for the sake of drama continuing, etc.).
I still prefer the strong female leads who're not dumb as all hell and can handle things in a realistic manner, but sadly many of them end up being the worst Mary Sues there can be since writers (for some reason) often confuse 'strong female lead' with an obnoxious, picture perfect Mary Sue.
So in a way I can personally enjoy these unrealistic shoujo MCs more, since they are clearly not taking themselves seriously (or so I hape/think anyway - unlike most Mary Sues do, sadly) tho I still enjoy reading stories with realistic and mature MCs more. The one I would recommend most would be "Emperor and the Female Knight", tho the MC is very much not feminine so maybe that's not up your alley. It's still a very nice story tho! In terms of art, character personalities and plotline. :)

I mean if we're being realistic here if u get caught in the enemies den
U get killed and she was ready to die for the sake of her pride and dignity as a respectful leader
I would prefer people like her
She also gives people courage since in the past gender stereo types we're hella bad
Like women should stay in there house and be lady like
And she wasn't like that which made me happy
She gave the women who wanted to be a knight hope
And the love story between the emperor and her is muah chefs kiss immaculate

They spent years together

Not only did she spend years together with him but she did not hesitate to kill people for Lucius the first
Everything about it was good
If u tell me to rate it I'd say 10|10
And it also gave me a pinch of reality

The other women knights stay thin and slim and lady like but hella strong (op characters
We all know that's fiction
Poliana had a very muscular body (not at all feminine like
And Lucius the first did not judge her for that
At the same time it also showed that women do not get simply accepted into stuff like that
I mean in other stories women who join knights get accepted too easily
In pols story it showed that she had to prove herself to get accepted first
Wich was very realistic
Tbh even after she proved herself she still wasnt accepted easily
It took a bit of time but thats what's good about it
The story showed us the progress of there relationship
I like it very much

I think Pauliana is probably THE best female MC out there in terms of being strong both physically and mentally as well as being a good rolemodel in several ways. She's by far my number one among all female characters, despite being very much not feminine (which i can relate to tho, I'm very guy-like as well tho not in a badass way like she is XD).
I do think her being so goddamn dense is a good thing tho, she would be too perfect without at least one major flaw. Tho her loyalty and 'knowing her place' aspects can/will likely yield trouble in the future. Seeing as she's very much cock-blocking herself when it comes to romance. I'll celebrate the day she finally notices the Emperor's advances, seriously. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I think as a character she was entirely sold to me when she was ready to play decoy and accept getting killed yet thought back when the guys tried to have their way with her. Her character was just amazing to watch in that situation alone. Made me a huge fan of her then and there when she kicked their asses but ended up not fighting too much. <3

The physical aspect of strong female characters is something that VERY much bothers me. As you said, they all stay thin and have a model-esque body type...which is unrealistic. Now, I could forgive that if we involved magic. But none of the plots ever do, despite magic being a thing in most stories. Just saying that they got blessed by a deity and hence have their strength be due to magic infested muscles, tendons, bones, etc. would be enough for me. But most things just don't work for me. Like "Crows Like Shiny Things" has a spindly thin lady with berserker powers(?) and she holds a sword that looks (at times anyway) like a two-hander that's as big and twice as heavy as her...with one hand. That's just something that throws me off since it's so weird and nonsensical. Always makes me laugh rather than go "gee, she sure is a strong impressive lady, woah!!!". I find that a flaw in writing/world creation. There gotta be SOME reason and sense to things. Tho I guess most readers don't quite care (I have been gettong countless amount of hate for stating what doesn't make sense or how it could be better/more reasonable, it's amazing in a way how offended people get by pointing out the lack of sense in stories..).

I really enjoyed the realism of female warriors in Pauliana's story too. I'm fine with stories that have an obvious setting of having no bias towards females, but as you said: Many stories just have them be accepted WAY too easily. At least for the bias being so sternly told to the reader chapters before and then, nada, not a single bit of bias from other troops or hardships of any king except maybe a condescending comment from an obvious love rival here or there.
(I know I might get hate for this too but) To me it often feels like the author is pandering to audiences that want women to be the most powerful gender/standing above men/hate men and hence want to make the females more special and powerful. And while pandering does work...it's not making a story good, in my eyes. It's lazy writing to me.

I'm honestly excited to see the story play out in the webtoon (haven't read the novel, but I DID spoiler myself some time ago, so I know where it's going~). Their relationship is nicely paced, I know many don't appreaciate a realistic pacing in stories but this one is just a great example of how it's done right and why it should be slow instead of rushed (worst case I've seen is Skip Beat!'s comment section, it's full of people who want just a quick, cliche romance story while full on ignoring that romance is NOT the focus and that there are many issues that need to be solved before anything can work out between the MCs - it's one of the most frustrating comments sections I've ever encountered tbh).

I'm definitely gonna check out your other recommendations, tho most I've already read/am reading. X'D

The thing called 'simp' is so damn active
In emperor and the female knight (the novel) yes the novel Cuz I think the webtoon twisted a bit of the novels story line but that's fine

So the thing called 'enemies to lovers' actually isn't unrealistic at all
Infact all of us have to start at hating each other at some point before falling in love
But sadly that doesn't apply to all stories
Some cringe ass stories make them fall in live the moment they see each other
Unfortunately that ain't my taste
