99% sure I'm correct on this.BASICALLY EVERYTHING BOILS DOWN TO THE UKE HAVING A FATALISTIC PERSONALITY.
- UKE has previously had his heart broken by a straight guy. (It says so on the cover) In general, he's pretty serious about relationships and attachments -- this leads to him carefully choosing things like shoes, as well semi-withdrawn / shy behaviors. (Sure he slept with the Seme, but that was supposed to be a one off -- the situation + the seme was the uke's type + seme made the uke laugh, ya know...)
- SEME has probably always been at least bi but wasn't aware. Evidence? He wasn't able to satisfy his wife -- given that he gave her a pretty plush life (see pics off gifts and what not) the "boring" likely referred to emotional / physical / sexual relationship. Also note : he wasn't able to get it up with women post divorce but got hard super fast with the uke.
- UKE has major issues with the quiet. During the day the world is noisy, so he can rest easily. At night things get quiet so he works a night job. To combat the loneliness he has people over a lot. This doesn't mean he sleeps with them.
- THE PERFUME BOTTLE : Uke doesn't want seme to think about the person who wore the perfume, automatically assuming it could be an ex. ( Thinking about ex -> thinking about screwing women -> women are better than men -> seme abandons uke. ) Convoluted, yes, but people who are deeply injured tend to frighten easily and their brains go down a rabbit hole of self doubt and worse case scenarios at the drop of a hat.
- CHAPTER 3 ENDING : Uke has another rabbit hole moment.
>> Seme is at a very gay event -> seme must now be interested in gays in general. ( Not once does it occur to uke that seme is there for HIM. )
>> Seme is talking with a cute guy -> seme must find him attractive -> any guy will do. ( Not once does it occur to uke that the other guy hit on seme. )
THUS uke pushes seme away, completely convinced that this relationship is already beginning its inevitable downward spiral.
