Hahaha! I used to think that a long time ago. After reading yaoi for so many years, I realized that I have phases where I'm obsessively reading it and try to find really good ones, then I stop reading for a while. It became a cycle. First anime is Dragonball of course.. It was always on TV. I also watched a lot of Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho ETC on TV. The first anime and manga I bought that was in Japanese was Inu Yasha. That was my childhood :) It's also the reason why I became a Japanophile.   1 reply

I was really young, but apparently my little sister had the exact same reaction as I did. This was back before we had manga reader sites, so I looked at a cover of a series, and if I liked the art, I download it. The first yaoi I read, when it got to the.. H scenes..
