going off of the translated title “i’m sorry, first love” i can assume that mahiro isn’t going to end up with sousuke, what i feel like is gonna happen is they might end up dating, but because of chiro(childhood friend) i feel like it’s going to cause mahiro to become insecure in her relationship and i feel like we’re going to get a time skip to sousuke and chiro dating/married, but honestly i have no idea and i hope that doesn’t happen, i really want mahiro and sousuke to end up together
This is a spoiler for the ending because it’s seriously crazy so if you aren’t interested don’t look
I’ll try to explain this the best I can but the devil is basically the story operator, think of omniscient readers viewpoint and the readers(us) are similar to the constellations, if you haven’t read orv for context the story operator is pretty much the guide for the readers in the real world and the guide profits off the story and how us the readers enjoy the story so in order to create the best story that the readers will enjoy the devil pushes the “characters” to follow the original storyline, The devils original goal was to make the perfect that fits the criteria but because chaerin and everyone else gained a will and a soul the devil was no longer able to manipulate them and so once the devil confessed to Chaerin and the others the trust that they’re actually living in a webcomic that people in the real world are enjoying and reading, after knowing this now that all the “characters” gained a soul and will they were now able to die again and use their new knowledge of this situation to their advantage, so once they die again now that they remember everything, they use what they know to gain the readers on their side, the readers(us) want a happy ending so the readers end up turning on the devil and causes the devil to falter chaerin(hauisu) then returns to her original body in the real world(this is the part where it gets trippy) because once she wakes up the author included actual real life photos of a real person waking up in a hospital and proceeding with their life as a human, not a character, from here we didn’t see any of the characters and we weren’t really told what happened to them but it is showed toward the end in a youtube video that someone is listening to the song Jinyeon wrote and shared with chaerin which hints that the novel characters were living in the real world, but that’s all we got as of now. I really wanted to see a reunion for all the characters but i don’t think we will get any side stories
Anyways the ending was so fucking insane i found the symbolism in this so interesting and one thing i really liked is how the author conveyed that all though everyone is a main character in their life(chaerin in this case) in order to grow as a person and get through life you have to get to know the “side characters” in life because you may be your own main character, but so is everyone else, everyone has their own things to offer and their own soul and will, and it is showed through the characters that even though you won’t get along with everyone, they still helped you become who you are now, those who you’re willing to stand by and understand will do the same for you, you can’t go through life alone no matter how hard you try, once chaerin put in an effort to understand that the side characters aren’t just characters and people with their own perspectives it caused her to form connections and bonds with others which healed her when things were tough, she wasn’t alone anymore, she had people who were going to stand by her just as she did. I enjoyed the ending because it showed that now that the original “characters” had their own will and soul they were given a place in the real world, because they weren’t seen as simply just extras without faces, they proved themselves which in turn gave them a chance to prove they aren’t just extras, they are the main character in their world. This comes to show that you can just judge someone you don’t know because just like you, everyone has their own complex story and personality, everyone lived their own life and saw the world in a different perspective. The manhwa is seriously a masterpiece that is criminally underrated.
omg update i just read the authors note/last chapter and SPOILERS!!!!
like i said that haesoo wakes up in the real world, the OG haesoo actually stayed inside the novel world and lived in chaerins body and the OG chaerin was the one who went to the real world and woke up in haesoos body!! AHHH THATS SO NICE.
I love all the characters especially mori because she’s such an easy character to love, she doesn’t hold any resentment or ugly jealousy towards mari and she gives her full support to otooni(idk lowk forgot his name but you get it) and helps give both mari and otooni a push, i honestly don’t want her to end up with otooni, i am hoping that asa ends up liking mori instead of mari tho just because i feel like they would be cute but either way i just want more chapters
everytime i think about how the story is gonna end up or i hope that the two mcs end up together and get married i remember that she is sick and doesn’t have a long time left so basing what i know from other stories similar to this i feel like they will end up getting married one way or another, but i feel like she will die soon after the marriage, i can’t really see them having a kid but i wouldn’t be surprised if she had a kid and then ended up dying, idk but either way i’m really glad about both of the character’s development especially the ml, you can tell how she’s slowly helped him develop real and sensitive emotions that he wasn’t able to comprehend before and he’s starting to actually listen and care about what she has to say which is a big thing, i love the manga and can’t wait for more
this is so shitty that i want to keep reading it because atp i really just wanna know how the the prince(luci?) felt about the countess or whatever and because the art is pretty nice.
Anyways spoilers, both the mcs suck, the mc tried raping luci(the prince) but instead fled and then luci decided to kidnap her and lock her up and treat her as some sort of sex slave without any sort of explanation and he repeatedly told her he hated her and wanted to kill her, but oh no! it’s just because he doesn’t know how to express himself so he turned to raping and mentally abusing her, mind you he was having an open affair in front of her and he was always put his affair first when the mc was present, just another reminder why COMMUNICATION IS IMPORTANT!! Also he openly allowed the countess who he knew was trying to harm the mc to meet her, and then got confused and mad when the mc was not understanding of the fact that he loved her. Mf of course she thinks you don’t love her, you legit told her you hated her on a daily basis and showed absolutely no signs of caring about her until she tried killing herself so ofc she won’t believe that you love her and not the countess, he was constantly blaming the mc for things and it’s so annoying. He could’ve simply told her beforehand that everything was just a ruse but instead he did the opposite and i feel like even if he couldn’t tell her, if he was going to kidnap her he could’ve at least been nice to her, or maybe just not rape and abuse her? idk it seems pretty easy. Also the ml legit like fucking trapped her into marrying him because of the stupid spell and she just kinda accepted it by chapter 10 and they were all good, all the rape and abuse and affairs were forgiven just because he doesn’t know how to communicate anything to mc and the mc also constantly blames herself. If you’re looking for an actual good manga with plot, this isn’t it, if you want good art and some bad smut then this is it!
updated after exactly a year ??
