I don't get it... since he needs money, can't he just take a vial of his tears to an auction house or the adventurers' guild? Sounds like it would repay the debt and then some, rare and miraculous as it is.
but if he did that people would wonder where he got it right? its not known that he's a dragon and thats not a thing that would be good if it spread

I'd recommend reading both. The webtoon adds a visual side you wouldn't think of while reading the novel, and the novel is a bit more in depth (ex. the why behind some actions), uncensored (ex. of censoring: What did Feng Jiu eat to be so strong? Rice in Webtoon and Breast milk in novel), and is further along in the story.
