* Old man also has devil fragment and because of heredity Herace now has too much life energy but can't control it.
* Devil's heart is in underground dimension but since it's powerful it leaks and causes strong monsters which the bahumut family is creating an army with.
* Half elves with devil fragments were enslaved by bahumut family and seeked revenge. They teamed up with old man and had a female from their clan have a baby with a bahumut member, hence stealing half of the family's power through heredity. The baby was ML.

Hell throw the werewolf in there too. I feel like the only dynamic where there would be fighting over him is possibly between his summoner and the 2nd girl with the bob-cut hair, but it wouldn't be that bad and just for a small comedic relief in the story.
