why are webtoon artists obsessed with either miscommunication trope or love triangle trope, i swear i barely see this shit in mangas

i’ve read this on another platform that i couldn’t recall, and i kept my comment in my notes cuz it’s way too long to post there lol. i found the manga here so i’m pasting it here hehe

this is a long one. it's my opinion, and i'm entitled to have one. i don't really want others to read this, or even start a fight to this. it's solely for my own gratification.

unlike most, i read this from boguk's pov. idk, myb bcs of how he relates to me on another level. how he's hurting yet he denies he's hurt. and because he's been hurt, he feels for others better. he not only helps woohyung, but also sujo with their own trauma and pain. he didn't just help woo hyung in the guise of love. it's because he has compassion, in which he has for sujo, the rival, too. he has his own trauma, but what he choose to pick up from that is compassion, which i think is admirable, and not many can do. not that boguk is an angel and makes no mistake. he did, multiple times. his insecurities led him to allow woo hyung to go find sujo again for sex. woo hyung, who didn't actually love him, didn't find anything wrong with that. besides that, bo also didn't stop woo hyung from doing unreasonable things in multiple occasions. myb what's running through his mind is "i'm not even in a relationship with him, i have no right to be jealous, or even control him", which also is a product of his insecurity.

what woo hyung feels toward bo is not love. and bo knows that. he finds some attraction in bo's love towards him, how bo keeps giving and he likes that, a type of feeling he never felt. it's the same feeling he has towards sujo, but bo just turns out to be the first to confess. he never did realize it was not love. or maybe it is love, he just didn't know how to. or else he wouldn't hurt bo so many times and still kept saying he loves him. more than that, woo hyung is selfish from start to ending. how he only thought of himself as the only one that hurts, and hurts others along the way. he acknowledges that what he and boguk has is a toxic relationship, how he keeps hurting bo with what he says, and how he denies bo of his pain and make it all about him; he's toxic to himself and boguk. boguk knows this from the very start, hence the rejection of woo hyung's confession. bo knows he loves woo hyung, but it would always be a one way street. he's the only one willing to give, when love is a give and take relationship. woo hyung never gives, not even to sujo. he's unable to love.

i'm sorry but i can't see the thing btwn sujo and woo hyung as love more than just attraction from the sex. he was about to quit his – what he would call as – second life, until he had sex with woo hyung, which at first he didn't want as well, but later find him as a compatible partner. then he got attracted after multiple sessions of skinship, and called it love. if i were sujo, i would've fallen in love with bo, who listened to him all night when initially, bo was the one seen crying in pain in the club. and when they re-encounter as rivals, bo push aside their rivalry, and again, listened to his troubles. even sujo is impressed of how calm and compassionate bo is, and could never win against that.

fast forward to the ending, again i stand with my opinion, woo hyung is selfish from start to ending. yes, he's happy the both of them are by his side. what about vice versa? bo was in so much pain seeing sujo with woohyung, and sujo was willing to let bo win woo hyung. bo even said he's glad they're "on the same page" because he on the other hand, couldn't let go of woo hyung, even knowing fully well that woo hyung is unable to love. but the author choose to make the ending vague, bcs as long as the mc's happy, fuck other's feelings, right?

i don't care who woohyung ends up with whether it's boguk, sujo, or even cha noyeol; writer could've made any ending look good if they want, except they didn't. the author chose an ending without closure, which made all readers restless. my personal opinion is, i think boguk deserves better. whether he is happily living with woo hyung, or choose to leave him bcs of how toxic he is towards him. ending it with the three of them still together, is not an ending. it's just a continuation of a never-ending cycle of jealousy, greed, pain, insecurity, possessiveness, and all the things the ugly side of love has to offer. i'd rather all three of them go their separate ways and they all find someone better. but then again, the title is “oroboros”, makes total sense.
