So it was pretty clear the attacker was like Bexan. But why couldn't Bexan smell what he was?
And it's either a play of dominance or the other guy doesn't like Bexan's publicity, why he attacked Bexan? And love the priority being the car lol.
Yeah, Bexan has never met other werewolves... that's the whole point of his wanting to go to Siberia. That'probably why he couldn't tell that the other guy was like him. Either no one told him what to pay attention to (smell or whatever) or like the other poster's said, he's had so little practice that his senses are a bit rusty.
We don't know if werewolves smell like dogs when they're in human form. Bexan probably had been adopted by a human woman, since he said he has never seen an other person like him.
I enjoyed the mangaka's other story and the 1 chapter for her second. I know rape trops are common in yaoi. But not sure if this is one I can finish.
Because this isn't rape trope. It is a realistic representation of rape. Rape trope is about desire spinning out of control, power dynamics being upended and love saving the day. Trope isn't about evil, emotionally stunted boys, who, through a sense of grievance and powerlessness, attempt to humiliate and destroy those whose personal autonomy offends them. It isn't about cowards who hide and stay silent while their friends are violated for fear that the violence will turn on them. The depiction of rape in this story isn't romantic and the only way it can serve the romance genre is if the seme redeems himself through unexpected and unlikely acts of heroism and personal sacrifice; the uke acquires the grace to rise so far above his tormentors that, for all intents and purposes, they no longer exist; and justice is properly meted to the rapists. In other words, in a well-told story, this is where the conflict gets interesting. The question is whether this will be a well-told story.
To say the least. That's a marvel of understatement, actually. But the distinction between romance and realism is pretty simple.
Rape-trope caters to readers' id-based urges to be sexually desired past the point of reason. It is pure escapism and fantasy, and is never intended to be connected with real life in any meaningful way. It provides a safe release for sexual tension, and since most people have more important things to resolve in their lives than whether others find them sexy or not (and for women, especially, whether they find their sexiness is too dangerous or unsettling—not that they have much, if any, control over how others perceive them, if they are perceived at all, apart from being objectified, ie., it's a tangled mess of complications), thank god for fantasy and safe releases.
Realism is about authenticity and truth, no matter how raw, violent, selfish, indifferent to the victim, or ugly in its execution. It is intended to be confrontational and disturbing. If romance exists in such a story, it comes through daring rescue, or in the form of comfort and solace. Sometimes, there is no romance, and the story is about how the protagonist and everyone involved mops up afterward, and this is probably the most honest depiction of all. There is a very subjective and individual value in such stories, but it usually takes an adult sensibility to tease that out.
But, certainly, both depictions can be disconcerting.
Too pure for uncensored dicks (≧∀≦)
Especially if it is a limp dick
