But again there are other relatives who do not possess the kotodama, and the gift is random, the parents do not need to have the power for their offspring to have it. However it is almost guaranteed that the one with kotodama will always love his/her kami (it’s inevitable since they need to connect bodies so feelings will come). You can say that Ryusei is a special stubborn case that refuses to admit he’s in love with his kami, or the fact that he’s technically gay (or at least bi at this point)

i believe yes. it would be naive to think that an adult will hold of all sexual relationships because he feels an attachment to a kid. besides until he grew up or/ and went into heat he thought Kai as something precious and not a romantic partner
