Both characters are non-stereotyped, but Jian Yi have more feminine characteristics and has two guys as "potential partners". Plus, it was Zhang who "saved" him, and that's a very "seme" stereotype.
Like I said, both are great and unusual characters, so... idk. The plot is too good to care about these things (but I still rather see Zhang as the uke uwu)

Zhanxi mentions in the beginning that Jian yi disappeared the second day of high school. They story so far is like a big flash back leading up to that time. In the present time they are college age (about 18/19), but the story right now is when they are last year middle school students (about 15).
