Can't believe I'm still reading this. I'm not even a fan of the story, but I can't resist Yashiro, and the art is great and so nostalgic. They don't do it like that no more. Old school black-white emotional BL/Yaoi art, not this flashy colorful webcomic style that feels superficial and empty with big pictures and censored d*cks, where you have to scroll down for an eternity to just grasp a single scene.
When I discovered this some months ago I was binging it in a day. But now I don't feel it anymore. It was a story about an underdog fighting his way up to the top. But the top is never reached. This is just getting bigger and bigger and bigger. There is zero character development and the story isn't interesting either. I don't hate it. The art is gorgeous, but yeah ... I cannot bring myself to read it anymore.
The thing that bothers me most: the guy behaves like he is asexual, but in reality he is ... bi? Hetero? Gay? it's not specified. But one thing is sure: he has some trauma, that's the ONLY reason that he doesn't want sex. Asexuals get constantly stigmatized like this: you have a trauma, there is something wrong with you, you're crazy, weak, afraid. And this manga is not helping. That said, it's a story and who cares. I like the other work of the author a lot. This story is rather underwhelming though.
It wasn't stated, but that's the thing: He behaves like he is. Imagine a manga where a guy sleeps around with another guy only because he was molested as a child. So he is sick and has a trauma and "behaving" gay is the result of a messed up brain when in reality he likes girls. Everyone would be mad. In this story behaving asexual is the result of a messed up brain. The guy isn't asexual and I knew that from the start. This is yaoi after all. Still it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Not to mention that such a story would work better with the other guy being more sensitive and caring. But he is mostly horny and a tiny bit perverted. The result is a porn story with characters with messed up background stories. It could be much more. The author can do better. I read yesterday her other manga for hours and was deeply touched. This one I will drop now.
Um the hot college guy Shii slept with "suggested" that the friend might be asexual based on what Shii told him. It was never clear. Teenagers often struggle with their identity in itself and then you bring sexuality into it. Honestly not every one is clear on such issues. Trauma complicates it even further. If it leads to the feeling numb or indifferent about sex they might be labelled as asexual. But what is asexual really? Is there a specific definition, as in this is definately how one has to be in order to be called asexual?
Although trauma at a young age can lead to schizophrenia or dissociative disorders. Those things can also be hereditary or can be developed from drugs or head injury so one doesnt have to go through trauma. Its just common. Although head injury is trauma Im hoping you understand in what context.
Just to make clear - asexuality is sexual orientation - NOT A DISEASE NOR DISORDER!
It is nor 'created because of trauma'. And yes, it has definition. And no it is not about having sex or not.
This manga is not about not having sexual desires but the exact opposite. He clearly has sexual desires but he is denying it and hate it...
I still haven't given me a definition and I was not implying that it was a mental disorder or a disease. Perhaps I should have stated that I am called asexual by others and also told that its due to trauma. Infact I've been told many things but Im hardly bothered by what others say and why should you.
Is it just me or is the mc getting boring? At this point he is tooo op. Good guy, gorgeous looking, super cool. After so many chapters there is not much else to say about him. I feel like I don't even know who he is.
This part is boring, the hae in battle is just a chapter in the novel and it's because jeju island has just ended, so its a breather sets of chapter. Jinwoo is not OP yet tbh, his fierce looks just made him look strong but remember, he's still not facing strongest hunters, this is just hae in of korea and s class hunters in both korea/japan. The novel depicted how jinwoo is still growing without any spoilers, because of his train of though that unfortunately wasn't given the best quality in the manhwa. His self dialogues state how he is still onto smth that has to come. I recommend for you to read the novel so as to not bored with the manhwa wkwk
As a person who read novel as soon as I finished the upto date chapters it dropped my interest in manga like 60 percent. I felt like SL is only saved by its manga. Tho the novel was exciting but it was mediocre at it's best.
So I really suggest everyone to not read novel just enjoy the manga.
I regret reading it ( ̄∇ ̄")
That's the worst translation job I have ever seen. Such an unpleasant experience. I feel like not even wanting to read the manhwa anymore. And no, I'm not too harsh. All those water signs, the pages are on repeat, the text makes NO sense at all. Why doing a PS when the original text makes no sense if you translate it one-to-one. I feel like the translator knows neither Korean nor English.
