I don't think Penelope really thinks she can do anything, she is going up against a manipulative, sorcery magic yielder and the system doesn't seem to support her. She just literally woke up from an attempt where she gave up all hopes, so i doubt she's even thinking logically..

about letting ecklis go, she probably doesn't wanna deal with him, we as viewers know what he's planning rn but she doesn't see him as someone too harmful i suppose, also since he's not someone with high status.

Now, about her treatment towards ecklis, she only ever has considered everyone as novel characters and she specifically chose ecklis since he seemed like an easy target and he was the one that was her way out until he messed it up (partly penelops fault too) which meant her only hope was falling, so maybe that's why she was just much more angry at him. I don't think she treats Derrick or winter any better. The duke and Reynold have been a bit nice to her.

Penelope does have flaws but so do the other characters too, she didn't ask for any of this and she's definitely not a totally green flag character. With addition to her childhood, I don't blame her for not having mental stability. She's a flawed character that's just trying to survive and probably savouring some sweet moments she gets since she lacked them all her life.

Yeah but you need to keep in mind that for her she's in a game and those are just characters following the original plot of the story she thinks she's the only "Human" there so she doesn't take their feelings seriously she's playing a game and the way she uses the characters and make them love her is her only goal to exits the game and return to her real world being selfish is her only escape route like you I find that hateful but she's blinded by her way of thinking (it's just a game nothing is real except death).

she is in love with callisto though and respects her father too i dont think she thinks it's entirely a game and not real. she wouldn't act like this and feel so hurt if she just thought it's a game and i know she's acting like this to eckles cause he was the weaker target and thats exactly the problem. she did whatever she wanted with him thatt really bothers me. with everyone else she was moderate and fair, they were shitty so she was shitty too I totally support that but not with eckles, thats on her

My favorite Penelope flaw is that she can't seem to forgive her earth brothers. And see the "game ones" as the same. Refusing to see their actions as they are and always interpreting their actions with a twist of malice. And now that yvonne is braiwashing them, the world seems simpler. Because they're all doing what she always thought they were. It's so tragic I wanna cry.
I want penelope to be happy.

When she started the plan, i think she still didn't consider them as someone important but with chapters started thinking of them as such. And yea i will agree that Penelope is at fault with what happened with ecklis but I'll say it's only a partial fault of hers and more on the situations that led to her not being able to spend time with Ecklis which eventually led to him misunderstanding.

With time, she caught feelings for Callisto but it's also because there were situations out of her control that helped deepen their relationship, but the same isn't applicable to Ecklis, there were no moments spent with him that'd make her see him as a someone close.

Honestly I'm not sure how to word it properly but just in short, The time spent with Callisto is significantly large and like a humane interaction as compared to with Ecklis, i think if there were no such moments, she'd probably have ended up spending it with Ecklis and he'd not have done the things he did. She also did trust Ecklis a lot (so i think i agree with you that she probably didn't think of him as just a novel character) since he was like his only hope and that break made her hate him so much more. Also from her pov, she didn't exactly treat him bad, she took care of him and was there for him just enough to raise the affection level, the misunderstandings on Ecklis part is what made the situation escalate.

Yea the story is honestly pretty tragic, i also got some spoilers about Winter and i am even more sad about it now. I just want a happy end for everyone but even that seems not possible. I think that's partly why i like this story, it's not a typical story where the focus is only on the mc with all other characters not having a personality at all, here everyone got their own thing going on for them.

It's because he was her ticket home and he betrayed her at first, but I think she is using him to bait. like I think she knows that chick had him follow her just then and used the situation to set a trap... I could be wrong and that be wishful thinking... Also, she is in denial about her feelings about both the dad and the prince... I think she felt like there was no way out and her only strand of feelings for the prince in the greenhouse kinda like crying for help like she wanted him to say I love you and his feeling to be 100% relying and believing the system which might not be the smartest idea or accurate for all we know she might not be in a game and just reincarnated into another life I have seen so many go down like that like oh you just remember everything like a game so on.. One thing for sure though is she is in some deep need of therapy and has a mental disorder or two for sure...
