There are some webtoons with rape that don't do the rape to romance thing as the top never forces themselves onto the bottom, or at least to an extent where the bottom is clearly not wanting it.

But I do agree that the plot is really getting flimsy and some aspects I still don't understand to this day (like how he could use his powers) idk if it's been said, but I'm just stupid and need a reminder especially after so long. I wouldn’t say it’s a harem. He does end up with more than one woman but he’s dedicated to them. It’s three in total. The lady we’re about to be introduced to, Sienna, and Anise the holy saint in Hamel’s era. It’s those three alone. While Ciel likes Eugune, he rejects her. There’s like two other women who show interest in him but again it’s not reciprocal and nothing ever happens between them. It’s not like he’s growing a harem because he’s obsessed with women or anything. It’s more like a polygamous relationship tbh. It feels more sincere than a lot of other relationships with harems and stuff. He’s not looking for a relationship, he legitimately is in love and those women love him back. Don’t be too concerned.

Yea, at first it kinda pissed me off when I heard about it and then I read it and I was able to let it go a bit, its just hard in the manga cause you really root for Sienna and Eugene. Anyway Kristina/Anise grow on you bc of Kristina's arc and it does seem more like a poly relationship. Plus Anise/Kristina and Sienna are not dead weight. I would be pissed tho if the author added more to their relationship.

When i look back i do agree that season 2 compares weak to season 1, the story isn't as heavy as to the first one (reason i fell in love with the series). But i do like the retonement arc seth is going and quite frankly most people that are still reading and still enjoying it (like me) are bc of the characters. I really love seth as a character, i can't describe it, since i both find him badass af and cute.
But yeah, if you where to ask me what the goal is, ifk probably say "atonement ig? But how, idk". Compared to that i still remember the overall plot of the first season. So I'd really wish there is some end goal here thats made clear or smth.

Exactly, I have had this opinion for a long time. Action and Romance DONT GO WELL WITH EACHOTHER. We read action for action. and Read romance for romance. When the two worlds collide, its like a black hole. You get sucked into the story but at the end when there is romance, you feel nothing because its JUST NOT COMPATIBLE.
This happened with Solo Leveling. I loved it so much until it had a girl trying to smooch of the MC.
