Adult Matthew's actions towards his partner are indeed inexcusable but don't hate on him sm, if u were born in a toxic ass household you will, to some degree be unable to avoid adopting unhealthy habits or become toxic yourself up to a point and sure therapy and time helps but it doesn't make all the trauma vanish and the pain is still there and very much valid. Just saying if you were raised in a household like that, who knows if you would or wouldn't do what Matthew did? His partner may now be traumatized from his actions and I feel so bad for him, but atleast now we know why Matthew acted like that and I hope he atones and makes it up to him.
