I started reading it on mangadex and I think we should respect the people who are doing US a favor by translating it at all. Even if it WAS made private, it still might be spread out, like with Lezhin.

But if it was private, then we'd at least try and take it into consideration because, well, they never wanted it public, and that way we could respect them. But they DID make it public, so what for?

Also, spoilers are the reason why the comments are listed above the topics section. You should only be reading topics if you're ok with potential spoils. Not everybody has the mind to hide them like most people do.

People are upset because they didn't have a warning that what they were about to read contained a spoiler. There are other multiple comment boards that tell you that if you do not put a spoiler tag in your comment...They'll delete it. There is such a thing called comment board etiquette. A person here spoiled it for someone without putting a spoiler tag. Even though the raws have been out and the story is complete, some people wait for the English version to read. How hard is that for people like you to comprehend?

And it's hard for you to comprehend that the topic section is somewhere you go to discuss what you just read after you read it. It not where people go to read comments. It literally says comment on top of the actual comments. How many times do I have to roll my eyes?

Nah, you can't comprehend because this story has 88 chapters. Why discuss something that happens in chapter 79 when it is not be tranlated and uploaded here? You put a spoiler tag before you spoil. You can roll your eyes all you want, it's not right. People can read the comment board whenever they want, before or after. Peole should be cautious however, don't spoil it for someone who as commented on a story that hasn't been uploaded without saying spoiler first. It's BS.

Second, people on mangago use the topic section to comment about chapters and if they have questions and the comments section for voting and commenting on the story as a whole---been like this for years. Like, are you telling people how to use the site? Because that isn't going to change.

First of all, there's no rule stating you have to have a spoiler alert in the topics before you post. You read it at your own risk. If there is a spoiler, well, life sucks. I'm saying you should not complain about something that's obviously gonna happen at some point. And you're getting mad about it cuz mangago can't control what everyone posts cuz you don't wanna see certain things. If you don't like the spoiler, then just thumb down the topic and move on with your life, lmao.

Also, it doesn't matter how many chapters are here or not. People can discuss whatever they want in the topics. It might suck for someone to spoil or whatever, but shit happens. That's why the fault is on the reader. Besides, not everyone cares about getting spoiled or not. I, for one, welcome them with all my heart. <3 I don't like torturing myself with cliffhangers.

You are the one telling people how to use this site by wanting them to put spoiler warnings in their topics. Newcomers might not necessarily know this sort of tradition or whatever, so what are you supposed to do about it? Cuz all these people are doing right now is whining over it.

If you guys are really angry, you should have the site post something on top that states the "rules" or whatever so that people don't do it again.

No, it's not the same. That's just being an asshole. The topics however, they only spoiled because someone asked what was gonna happen. It's a reply to another question. And these guys read that reply, which they should have known might definitely have contained a spoiler due to the context of the question, and then when they read the spoiler, they write like 10 comments complaining about getting spoiled, which was obviously bound to happen. You're talking about a different type of spoil, the type no one asks for and appears just because they wanted to be an asshole. And also, why wish for me to be quiet? I'm only doing the same thing any other person was doing in the topics. You weren't even on this thread. But I guess now you know how I feel about people complaining about every little thing and then proceeding to write a reply to the source if their anger.

You should keep in mind that everything you post here also shows up at the front page and it can happen that you unintentionally read the first few words of a comment. That's how I accidently read spoilers sometimes.
Just write "SPOILERS" when you spoil something.

As for "read at your own risk": All we want is that people who post spoilers write a single word ("spoilers") before they do it. People who want spoilers still get them and those who don't can avoid them. Isn't it better to ask a few people to write a single word than to tell everybody who doesn't want to read spoilers not read the topics (which also means that they can't participate in any discussions)?
Yes, it's stupid to complain about spoilers when somebody asked for spoilers and they still read the answer to the question. But I think it's safe to assume that it wasn't just that one post that made people angry when you look at how often spoilers are posted without a warning.

Even if you want people to write spoiler, not everyone will do it. That's the point I was arguing. That's why I also said just randomly complaining wasn't going to do anything. I made a suggestion to those who want to complain to instead ask mangago to maybe make a rule about it like other sites do. Apparently, no one read that and kept blowing steam at my replies.

I read your suggestion but you mentioned it in your 7th reply to this topic, so it didn't strike me as your initial point but rather as something you thought about later. And a rule alone doesn't change anything. You need mods who delete spoiler comments but that won't happen on this site. The only thing we can do is to constantly tell people to use a spoiler warning, hoping that they will remember it the next time they post spoilers.

True. People have the choice whether to read or not, and if they are not a fan of the idea then it’s always best to just simply leave it alone rather than complaining about a particular theme found in a fictional story.

Why shouldn't I read yaoi? There are plenty of bl manga that don't have rape. I like reading yaoi manga and sometimes you might pass up a gem if you let the rape tag keep you away.

Obviously ALL of us know that reality and fiction are two different things. I haven't seen one comment claiming that showing rape in manga is romanticizing it. No one is arguing that being ok with rape in manga is the same as being ok with rape in real life.

What I AM trying to say is that there are better ways to create drama and conflict in these type of stories. If you're going to use rape, then follow through and use it to actually grow your characters. Don't just throw it in for some drama and then never talk about it again.

It's unfortunate that those people think that being ok with rape in fiction is the same as being ok with it in reality. It's basically the same line of thinking as videogames make people violent, which is not true. And you are absolutely right, authors don't HAVE to do anything. They can draw what they like and what they want. I just find that a lot of mangaka use rape as an "easy" way to bring conflict into a manga and I'm over it.

The storyline of this manga is so often that it is annoying. Not only the assault from nowhere, but the "i have sex with girls you like because i like you, i confess to you and now we have sex". So do not except people won't nag that again we read the same thing. This is not about fiction-reality mess up, but rather a "we have a brain" kind of thing. I have not forgotten all the other mangas with same story.
I have also read manga containing rape but there are well written so they are masterpieces or good reads overall.

I think that's a pretty dense statement of you. I've read plenty of yaoi where rape doesn't happen or isn't sugar coated, so you either haven't broaden your horizons or you're full of crap.

[At the moment] There's no tag about rape, there's no explanation of what exactly happens in the story; so how can they know if the story is bad? That's like telling someone not to eat their food, if they don't like the taste. But how the fuck are you going to know the taste isn't to your liking, if you haven't actually tasted the food? That's telling a reviewer not to read the story if they hate it, but how the fuck would they have known they hate it if they didn't read it? That's telling someone not to listening to the song if the vocals are bad, but how will they know the vocals are bad if they haven't actually HEARD the song?

Sure there are people who like this trope, but there are a whole lot of people who dislike this trope too. You hit the nail on the head with one thing; mangaka's do it because it's convenient. It's a fast way to make sex happen, and that's what makes it so boring. A lot of great yaoi out there that are still going strong, do not feature rape or a lot of it. They focus on growing the characters. Other mangaka's should take note.

If you are well aware that you dislike an entire theme then might as well generally try to avoid it if you can. That’s basically my point. Let's incorporate some logic here. I know it can be hard, but try to think. Who even reads the comments before starting a new story? Reviews equal spoilers, how about you consider people not wanting to spoil themselves? Be realistic. THAT'S why we've got tags; they don't spoil the content; they only tell you a small piece of the story. If the tags do not hint the theme, you will be unaware of said theme UNTIL YOU READ THE STORY. And even if the tags did say it's about rape, it is still UNCLEAR how the rape plays out in the story. Is it a story about growth? Is it a past rape? Nothing is certain. THAT'S WHY I literally explained why people are UNAWARE of the theme, and how they will continue being UNAWARE, if they. don't. read. the story. For fuck's sake. If you're going to reply, add something new and/or progressive to the discussion.

People can learn and understand different points of view and maybe even broaden their mind a bit. To simply call it "complaining" is dumb. Are we supposed to blindly accept anything that we read?
