Uhhh help me I don't understand an inch of what is going on on the lastest chapters about san that has to disapear or something like that ._. So can someone PLEASE explain it clearly to me what is happening with san?
The “San as Bait 2.0” has started. San’s human memories have been restored and Geumsun removed his goblin markings to make him human again. He’s been sent off with a crystal containing his most painful memory that when he takes will draw Hwan out.
He’s “missing” in the sense that we the reader don’t know where he’s run off to take the crystal.
It’s unlikely that the “San as Bait 2.0” plan involves killing San for the following reasons:
1) When Yama and Geumsun used San as bait the first time 20 years ago, Hwan taunted Geumsun (ch 54) that the human host’s soul will disappear along with Hwan so Geumsun has already shown he’s unable to kill Hwan if it involves taking a human life. Geumsun confirms that Yama also knew killing a human host to kill Hwan is something Geumsun is unable to do (ch 55).
2) Geumsun promised San to grant San whatever he wished for and reincarnate him in whatever form he chooses if he helps Geumsun with the “San as Bait 2.0” plan.
3) In order to resurrect San as Geumsun promised him, Yama had to draft a new law that had to be approved by all the other kings in a long process (ch 64) as San’s “death” of stepping into the underworld with his human body intact was unprecedented. In seems this law has just passed, as 944 mentions that the disposition from the underworld has just been decided and what happens to San will be at his will (ch 71).
TL;DR Drawing Hwan out is what is happening with San. However, the “San as Bait 2.0” plan was proposed with his survival as a promise. To me, San is safe. Geumsun and 704 however....
Oh, but if you meant why San has to disappear from Eunjae's memories - it's because when he's reincarnated all memories of San in the human world will also disappear. Rather than wait for that to happen naturally for Eunjae, memories of San are preemptively taken from Eunjae by Geumsun before the inevitable.
