Personally I know all fujoshi/danshi's aren't bad but i find people that call them self one kinda odd i guess? I find it fine if people read yaoi's and stuff but fujoshi/danshi mean "rotten girl/boy" so basically it's an insult to that person. I mostly just don't like the people that go "I only read it if it's gay" or "if two men were having sex I would watch them" because that's what fetishizing is.

so, I don't know if I have a say here cause I'm not a guy, but I think it's only fetishizing if you, ya know, masturbate to it, or only read things if its yaoi. but it feels like when people call themselves weebs. you know.. some people think it means youre obsessed with japanese culture and whatever and others think it mean you like manga/anime. some fujoshis are weird as fuck and think its an accomplishment to like gay guys. Others just use it to show they ship gay guys sometimes? tbh, I think it depends on how you use it. sorry this is kinda long. does it even make sense? lol

first, fujoshi stands for "rotten girl". people who call themselves that are usually the ones fetishizing males. if you want a label then go ahead and use it, though i don't really see a point. Honestly reading bl is perfectly fine, its just certain fujoshi's who ruin it and make our community look bad.

I once used the word fujoshi in a comment without fully knowing what it means (I still don't know what it really means) and then some people "attacked" me saying I fetishing... NO... I just like romance (between same sex people or not) god dammit ╥﹏╥

Reading BL does not make you a bad person. However many readers are in fact fetishizing gay people and Yaoi as a whole does include in several cases very dangerous and toxic tropes which implement this tendency in seeing characters in BLs as just a hole and a dick.
Just see how many readers in this site defend child p*rn and rape,assault ecc with the "it is just fiction" excuse. Or simp over rapists for no reason than their design. Or in many cases even FAIL to recognize the act as what it is because when we get accustomed to a practice,that practice will be perceived less and less as dangerous and extraneous.

The best suggestion I can give you is "listen to actual gay guys". Just as I am not Black and will never say what is to be considered racist, I am not a gay man so If they feel fetishized I have NO right to be defensive over something that does by no mean represent nor harm me as I am not gay nor a man.

Thank you for your opinion. I have a question though. Would it be okay if there was like those scenes but they don’t come up frequently. Like in Cherry Blossom After Winter, a manga that didn’t have those scenes until many chapters and even after they don’t show a lot of those scenes.

It all depends on how the act is portrayed. Reading a BL that has scenes of sex is not fetishizing and also a BL having sex scenes is not fetishing. Sex is a normal human activity. However... Reading a BL BECAUSE it has two guys screwing each other it is tho. Depicting gay guys as immoral predators and rapists with the excuse of love is fetishizing (and disgusting). Also showing rape as just an act of love, or not as grave as it really is is not just fetishizing but immensely dangerous.

Cherry Blossom After Winter is safe. It is a good BL, way too good for the standards of this site if you ask me.
