Lol this my second time reading it!! Perspectives have changed. He always cares about him and never said it- but he was a murder and let his son join that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care he just wasn’t the best parent, I feel bad for him. He know he fucked up, since he saw his wife. He didn’t kill her because he loved her. He loved his son too. He was a terrible, caring (but bad at showing it), father. People think manipulators and murders, etc shouldn’t have sympathy. He’s still human, maybe he’s crazy, but he knew he was wrong, he knew what he did. He always wanted his son to be different and for his son to have someone who accepted him unlike his wife probably. I thought about this a lot. If I liked the dad or not. I would forgive him too, not for all the force of trauma, but because he knew, he was trying. At least to me he tried. So I wouldn’t hate him, but I would have understood how he felt.
