why is the novel way more mellow dramatic than the manhwa LOLL maybe it was just the translation but the ending of part 1 was so depressing in the novel and the characters were way more frustrating
serena was way more frustrating in the novel, i low key hated her. it also goes in depth on what happened to the queen and how the prince became how he is before the timeskip. i mean i do feel bad for the queen a bit because being forcefully poisoned to become violent, isolated, starved, and used as a heir maker is horrible. i just can’t forgive her for the abuse even when it was all the fault of the council or whatever they’re called. she came from a noble family with barley any power so marrying to royalty probably seemed amazing at first but jesus christ i was still so mad at her.

reading the rest of the chapters made me want to kill myself but what gave me a little bit of closure is that the author draws them as just actors and that this was all just a movie and it never actually happened even in universe on their twitter
