When nianian will get beaten and bleed for 3 days. But he'll be able to fight the healthy and bigger kidnappers at the 3rd day despite having broken body bones and leg. He'll walk for hours despite having beaten and excessively bleeding. And gu yansheng would shatter a glass on nianian's broken leg despite the man's horrible and blood-soaked state.
Srsly that part was quite illogical. It's not like when niannian has super human body to survive the beatings, excessive bleeding, PTSD attack, and broken bones. LMAO I was literally laughing on how he was able to escape the kidnappers. I thought the would improve halfway the story, it's quite disappointing how the author was not able to see opportunities to make the story climatic. And it's funny how wen nianian's psychological illness is not triggered every time he encounters gu yansheng.
When Louan was the only logically written character (but still so much flawed), the rest of the characters are badly written, no consistency and character development at all.
Lastly, the author is an amateur, no research was done to tackle psychological issues (despite using a psychological genre).

I'll elaborate how few characters were inconsistent.
1. Father Wen after the divorce of nian nian and yansheng. The Father never take a legal action to go up against the gu family (although he severed all connections to gu family) at least he could have helped nian nian file a restraining order to yansheng.
2. Yansheng mother. The authors wasted many possibilities on how this character could developed and achieve bigger things with her power and authority. Yangsheng's mother is capable of eliminating louan with just a snap of finger but the author did not.
3. Tang Shou's brother. This one is also poorly written. As a person with an executive position, you should be wise and capable, but not to the point of working for the company alone. He hid the company's problem to his father who I believed has more connections and authority than him. His decisions led the Tang company in a despairing situation.
As I've said Louan is the only consistent character. With a straightforward visions for his goals. Not wavering from distractions. Though I believe it's still a flawed character, this man could've been a great villain if only the author put more rational idea for Louan's reasons for antagonising others. The author used lame and cliche reasons for him to act the villain which ruined Louan's character.
Bottom line this is an amatuer's work. But I hope the author would improve in the future. By putting a reasonable and well-researched ideas.

What pissed me off the most about this story is that after all the psychological, physical and emotional trauma Niannian went through, he still ends up with that moronic abusive Yansheng cos that bitch shows a teeny weeny bit of remorse.
I don’t understand why most Chinese novels and manhwas have the abused going back to their abuser and living a “happily ever after” where instead it would be better for them both to be off alone. Also the second lead while is caring and loving sometimes makes the dumbest of decisions in regards to their loved ones.

The vol 3 is poorly written compared to the first 2 volumes. So it got me thinking if there will be another volume coz there's just so much gaps that has not been filled, at least for me.

Kotaro is so sly. He's a whore. He's not dumb or something but still proceeded to have secret relationship with kyujo. He can turn down kyujo's request since the burn was an accident. He's really a bitch more than araki, he's the worst. Acting all innocent, he keeps on contacting kyujo knowing he's already committed to ayumi. He doesn't deserve any of the 3 seme.
