I rather liked it. Her sadness and agony is subtle. she's not angry, she just done with it. She is done hoping and she is done with love, she is done with trusting him. Her bleak outlook on him, she expect nothing from him. It's like a silent protest. I kinda understand her.
The only thing that binds her to him is their child.

He is too selfish and obstinate. He can't see anything other than himself. Please character development come quickly, I can't fathom the hurt he will give to Dan. I want him to be aware just how much Dan is suffering because of him and realize that he's not the only one at their lowest point. Just give the boy a drop of empathy. Pleaseeeeee.

I like this chapter a lot. It highlights the Dan's struggles. How he tried to cope and just live. I felt his pain, it was so hard, I even cried. Not knowing when his grandma will die, but knowing she is closer to death each day. His desperation and his fear, it was immaculately displayed. I hope JK saving Dan opens up his eyes how strong people can be fragile.
That's the hairstyle of death. Farlene was destined to die. Poor him.
