I watched the anime and read this two years ago so I don’t know where I stopped in this cause I didn’t have it saved. All I can say though is Soo Won is my fave character all throughout this story. He is an antihero and his characterization is pretty deep so not everyone will understand his causes. However, he is a character that actually wishes the best for the country though his means were on the wrong end. He literally sacrificed friendship and committed a crime for it but that is what makes him interesting. You want to see how much more he’ll develop and well idk what happens next but this man needs more understanding (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
Gosh this is the first time I’ve seen someone like Suwon as much as me!
I’ve loved him from the start and I believe he’s always had his reasons for what he has done and has helped the kingdom tremendously. Has he always been good to our main characters, no, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a bad person either. I love how this story shows that both parties can be good people and do things for justice even if they’re enemies to each other.
Too many people hate Suwon from what happened at the start and refuse to see his character objectively.
Same! I don’t understand why so many people hate him when we’ve mostly seen Yona’s POV in the story. Tbh I like how realistic it is cause it reflects how humans are. We do what we believe is right and make mistakes. Not everyone is going to understand why we do such things but he was always fighting for what he thought was right for the country.
I would’ve hated him if he was outright evil but everything that he has done has actually made the country tremendously improve in the economical sense like so many are just hating him for one reason alone and that was betraying his friends. Tbh he could’ve communicated better but anger really does bring the worst side in a person ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
Hopefully Yeongha will make a new story that’s soft and cute again like Fools. I’m in for the complexity of her stories but damn LOH made so many people fight with each other. I like how she does character building and descriptions of their feelings but I do hope she doesn’t rush the near ending like this one. There may be side stories tho, so I’ll wish for that instead. Anyways, we need FLUFF to rid all this negative energy in the comments section (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
One more thing, am I the only one weirded out with how Fools: Remastered has the same character base with LOH? I keep seeing Haesoo now in the recent artstyle just without the mole lol
They’re actually the same story but the difference is that in the Remastered vers, it’s a new art style and the artist changed some scenes to fit the narrative/feel they wanted to go for. It is also completely colored compared to the OG one which is half-colored (▰˘◡˘▰)
I’m planning to finish the original one tho before I’ll continue reading the remastered so that I can compare differences but if you’re not up for that, you can just read the remastered one
I admit, I really shipped Ray and Gabriel but it’s too late now. Gabriel has slowly moved on or totally already from him. They were both too scared to take a chance because of friendship and that’s understandable. You just need to choose whether it’s best to put your friendship on the line or not. It’s sad but that’s where they end :( I hope Ray finds someone caring and nice for him
This story has so much potential but wasn’t executed properly. The concept was interesting at first but now the story is all over the place. Most of the chaps are sex scenes and there isn’t more description on their situation within the kingdom. It’s getting confusing so I think I’ll just drop ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
I think so too... I want more story, less sex and I want for their relationship (mc and his daughter) to have more chapters since it's the most important thing going on rn. Sex is cool and all, but it doesn't help the world building and doesn't expose any secrets or anything. I will give it another chance with few next chapters - if nothing won't change I'm gonna drop, too (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Idk how you’re lasting long (⊙…⊙ ) The sex scenes were actually hot but we still don’t understand fully the problems within the characters which is why it needs more plot building. The artist focused more on the king’s curse that we missed so many moments as to why the mage was trapped in that tower, why are the kingdom’s fighting, and how he’s actually gonna build his relationship with his daughter... I mean the synopsis was setting me up for high expectations which is why I was interested in this story in the first place. Oh well
I’m still disappointed at how we got less Joowon x Haesoo moments in the present. It was more on the negative side of their relationship. I wanted deeper talks and them acting sweet with each other after their endgame but we got a time skip instead :') On the other hand, I also wanted a different route particularly for Haesoo. For most of the story, we don’t really see Haesoo’s character development and it seemed he was usually drowning in self-pity. It would have been better of he settled for taking up therapy before thinking of going into a relationship cause he just seems to bottle everything up. He needs more time for himself and Idk if going into a relationship with Joowon is immediately gonna fix that...esp with how he’s brought up by his mom ╥﹏╥
I'm disappointed in lack of Joohae senec too, I wanted to see them getting domestic, going through their issues, problems, feelings...so author skipping that part was meh for me.
On the other hand Haesoo had character development. He reflected on his actions, his and Joowon's relationship. He was the one who said stop to their unchangeable, unhealthy ways at some point. And finally he chose himself and his feelings instead of society's and his mother's views.
Also it's not like relationship limits you from getting better and fixing your own issues.
Yup, if the author was building up for Joohae endgame then she should have created more background for them and them going past their issues. Joowon and Haesoo still haven’t cleared up their feelings properly. I wanted an in-depth route for them after getting together but sadly the author rushed that.
In terms of Haesoo’s development, for me I wanted him to be free of his pent up feelings. Therapy would have been good for him considering the amount of things that happened in his life. It can really mess someone up. I also believe that if they both waited for each other in the span of 10 years, waiting again for Haesoo to actually free himself from what he’s felt isn’t a problem. I’m just saying to give himself more time and focus on himself cause all that time, he was also jealous of Joowon and even admitted how he didn’t want him to be successful. That is the reason why I wanted him to get some time for himself before actually diving into a relationship with the one person he’s been on-off with for a long time.
Yup I'm also kinda disappointed how rushed the ending is and how author avoided the most interesting (for me at least) part of them getting together and working together towards better relationship.
Unfortunately therapy is rarely discussed in East stories beside very severe cases when the character has very serious mental health problems.
We can always argue they didn't want to "waste" any minute after Joowon's accident, that they've faced the reality of how fragile human's life is and didn't want to life in regret any longer.
Ahh the teen phase, he’s rebelling against her now(▰˘◡˘▰) he was so cute as a child and now he’s cheekier as a teen. If she didn’t raise him, I would have shipped them hardcore but I keep seeing them as a mother-son relationship ugh I think they should time skip it to a later age wherein he’s 18 or older so we wouldn’t feel this uncomfortable
“YOU RAISE ME UP SO I CAN CLIMB ON MOUNTAINS”
Bruhhh...6 years passed and he’s still 13? I thought he was 10 when he first arrived at her palace. I’m still swallowing the fact that he’s probs gonna be the ML so seeing his childhood and them cuddling is getting a bit weird for me T_T they’re so cute as a mother and son figure but we’ll see soon how both perspectives will change once he’s an adult
I absolutely love Luke’s character. He actually cares about Gab’s feelings and even though he doesn’t show it, he does sweet things that are out of his comfort zone. He knows he doesn’t have much to offer in the relationship but he still gives the effort that Gab wants. He’s still slowly understanding Gab’s character and they know how to adjust based on their personalities. I think they’re a rlly cute couple. The development is there and it isn’t rushed cause Gab knows how to handle Luke. Sorry Ray, but you’re too late. There were so many chances between Gab and Ray but no one took a chance because of the fear of breaking a friendship
