Wait, wait, wait. Is Claude saying that his brother jumped in to protect someone (maybe Jeannette's mother) whom he was trying to kill? Or that maybe his brother was trying to protect Claude? Given that he only specifically mentioned that incident after his brother jumped in to protect Jeannette it doesn't make sense that he would be talking about his brother 'jumping in' and trying to kill him. If that's so, I like Claude's brother way more than Claude himself, btw. If it's not the case I only like him a teeny bit better. Yeaahhh, I now simp for Claude's brother! Idc about Claude. Claude's brother ftw!

Oh yes! This is from the novel I read! It's awesome! Lol peeps are already assuming things that clearly aren't true, given how Qi Kang responds to the ML. Nope I only ever want to kick the sh!tty ML, not the victim. I don't know why most people love kicking the victim all the time. I guess I just can't ever get into the mindset that no matter what angle one approaches the abusive circumstances from the victim, never the abuser, must be somehow to blame.
