Pi is real at least enough to impact the mortal plain. And pi is only able to interact with one person and she is constantly putting her life in danger. After aria dies pi will live eternity alone and she is speeding up the process. Pi deserves to have a real body but I think pi may end up dying somehow at the end because of how self aware they are.

I have 2 theories:
1. The mom's love is conditional. Though she realized that that was really Anna, she still would not accept Anna as she is no longer human.
2. Mom may be the reason that Anna passed in the first place and wants to keep her gone.
I'm mostly leaning towards the 1st one since there really isn't much to go by for the second (though it's possible)
