i agree with you

I understand what you’re saying, but there’s judgement clouded by love and stupidity beyond reason. He’s signed her death warrant. He removed her from the safest place she could be to an insane emperor who’s been openly wanting to kill her for years. An emperor who only recently laid siege against their people, murdering many in the process. And why? Because the lunatic said he’d forgive her.

My reply got cut off. I want to add that what it all boils down to is he wanted her, he couldn’t have her, so he took her. That’s not love, that’s obsession on a stalker level. He’s become a danger to himself and her. Even the emperor’s own people know he’s a lunatic. If they make it that far, that idiot Cain will be sent to a dungeon or executed and she will be tortured if she doesn’t give up her knowledge or executed because the emperor wakes up in a bad mood.

I totally understand and agree to your point. I won't justify the mistake that Cain did but compared to hating him from loving someone to the point of obsession and stupidity is somehow pitiful. His mentality is kinda unstable, as you read the last chapters he seems paranoid about protecting her plus the fact that he's suffering from seeing the one he loves, loving someone else but he still didn't leave her. Then it's taking its toll when the ML says he will not be her guard anymore. I think anyone really became stupid at this point.

I get that completely. I was a huge Cain fan. I loved him so much. When I started seeing the direction this was going it gave me a sick feeling in my stomach. I think most of us realized when the ML said that he meant that he would respect her wishes of wanting her complete freedom. All that meant is she wouldn’t be put under house arrest and have personal guards around her 24/7. I think by that time Cain was ready to use any reason to tell himself he was doing the right thing. Yes, I agree he meant too much for me to hate, too. If I had to say how I feel about him now it would be pity.

ever since the fight between Cain and Edawerd I know I didn't like Cain anymore. after all the disgusting things Cain said back then, I give up on him. it hurt cause I like Cain character but it was coming a mile away, it was clear he was going to do something crazy to her to control her like he always wanted. and this is not love.

I don't think he's trying to control her, it's just that he's overprotective because it's his duty to guard her but he overdid it since she loves her too much. Also, in medieval mentality they won't put a lady on a frontline (since it's a war) so they tend to selfishly cast her out.

argue for someone to be lock up in a close room their whole life is not protection! it mostly control over that person. please see the difference between actually will to protect and lock up in prison of control!
the era does not matter in this case since the lord is the one that decide who will go to war, and a lord say is absolute! in medieval mentality you will follow what the lord of the land say even if you don't agree with it! not even talking about it just a fiction book someone wrote anyway so era is very loose and not very follow real medieval anyway

Here we go again.. as I said, I won't justify Cain for the mistake that he did. Locking her up was already done by edward and she's his lover so she explain it to him that it's wrong but what do you think in Cain perspective? As you read the last chapters Cain and Edward argue about protecting her. Cain thinks that Edward didn't put importance on her as it is their mentality not to let a lady join in a battle. That's even why she disguises as man. Putting that aside, he's heartbroken.. she doesn't love him but he still stays! Anxiety, paranoia, even guilt because he shouldn't have feelings for a girl his master likes. Do you think he still has the capability to think? When someone loves to a point of no return.. they eventually became stupid as fuck. Isn't always the ending of a second male lead? They all became stupid. This is the point that I'm trying to explain. He's wrong.. I knew but I won't condemn him for such reason. Disappointed, yes.

I don't care or want to get him, he wasn't like that in the start. why does he feel paranoia if he is not obsessive controler? oh you going to say that it all cause love and he feel the need to control her and feel paranoia(for no reason cause she is strong enough to knock Cain out cold and he know it) cause he cares for her - I don't give a damn. I really don't.
yeas he has the capability to think like any human been, but he does not care other then the fact he can control her, it seem. even if both of them die, it seem to not bother him either.
he is not even a second male lead - she will never love him!! he will forever be in the friendzone! and if he can't handle it, it is his problem! he can't just kidnap her for it!

Something to remember here. How many of us have read stories….and I’m talking real life, about someone who’s “love” turned into obsession. It leads to stalking, threatening and many times rape, kidnapping, murder or murder suicide. The moment Cain stopped acting normal…..meaning, girl likes someone else, go thru some down time and get back to living….he became a dangerous psycho. What Cain has done:
1. Watched his people, men/women/children die during the siege by crazy emperor
2. Knows that crazy emperor has vowed to kill mc for years
3. Make a deal with those that murdered his people and vowed to murder mc
4. Made that deal because crazy “emperor said he’d forgive everything….really?!?
5. Helped set up an ambush that AGAIN got people who trusted him murdered
There is no love here. This is absolute insanity obsession where Cain is willing to have people he served with and grew up with, not just men, but women and children, die so he could keep mc for himself. There’s no justification for this. What the emperor will do if they make it there:
1. Kill Cain immediately
2. After that, torture mc for her skills
3. If she doesn’t give in he might rape her
4. After that he’ll either kill her or use her to bring ml to his knees
There simply is no way a normal person can make the choices Cain made. His choices were self serving. His mind is gone.

Well it's your opinion and own perspective. Thinking one sidedly isn't ironic? Btw all second male leads are forever friend zoned. That's that it.. I won't argue with someone who has close mind.

I get you mate. I understand what you mean. Cain just kidnapped Rina and I love Rina yet I can't hate Cain for loving her and wanting to make her his. I can't justify his actions because the author really did him dirty but the Cain we knew at the beginning of the novel is still engraved in my mind and I can't forget him.
