YUNNAN ARC:

They have a missing ingredient which is only found in Yunnan where the Palaces are located and these palaces cut off their entire relationship with the central plains so it would be difficult for them to go there without an escort. Before going there, they have to pass by Sichuan where they'll be escorted by a merchant guild to Yunnan, and when they went there, they found out that Jo Gul was a son of a big merchant family and he's basically a young master. And then the Tang Sichuan Family who basically ruled over Sichuan, went to Jo Gul's house since they heard that he was there and they wanted to test him out because they want to know if him choosing Mount Hua over the Tang family was worth it (since if you're a young master that is born in Sichuan, you'll have to basically enroll in the Tang family, which the Tang family uses as a leverage from other families there esp Jo Gul's family which owns a really big merchant guild, but Jo Gul didn't want to go there so his father sent him over to mount hua bc they thought that the Tang Family wouldn't touch him since it's literally far and it was a sect that was already in ruins)

So one of the sons of Tang Family's head went to Jo Gul's house to test him, and Jo Gul won which became a huge slap for the Tang family since they didn't expect him to be so strong that he would defeat that son.

(My memories of what happened next was kind of hazy but I will just summarize it.)

The Tang Family heard of it and then went there to meet them. Chungmyung was then reminded of someone, his only close friend which was also part of the Tang family, Tang Bo. (One of my fave characters fr even tho he only appeared in flashbacks) Chungmyung and Tang Bo fought together in the war and when Tang Bo died, he asked Chungmyung to promise him to guide the Tang family descendants, and Chungmyung did promise him as this was his dying wish.

The Tang Family specializes in two things, their dagger techniques and their poisons, and the Tang family in this era is so focused on their poisons so Chungmyung decided to help them in favor of Tang Bo, to revive their better technique, which was the dagger. So he and the Tang Family head decided to make a bet but basically Chungmyung won it and he then became acquainted with the Tang family head.

So a lot of things happened when they stayed there, and the Tang family was also the first member of the alliance that Chungmyung founded (I forgot the alliance name )

Also, a cute female character will also appear which is Tang Soso, she's really hilarious as she is the only daughter of the Tang Family head, she wasn't really supposed to learn what the males in the family learned like their techniques and such since she's basically going to be married off in the future but she was able to learn their healing and poison techniques. She really wanted to have freedom and she thought since she'll be married off in the future, she might as well choose who she wants to marry, so she locked off her gaze to Chungmyung and basically chased over Chungmyung in the Tang family house. And it was actually really funny as Chungmyung was reminded of Yu Iseol when she also chased after him for the 24 plum blossom sword technique. Although, Tang Soso didn't really have any romantic feelings for Chungmyung, she just thought that it was her best choice since Chungmyung is really strong and lived far away. But because of Yu Iseol, Tang Soso realized that this isn't the only way out that she had. So basically she asked her father to let her join Mount Hua and she did, she's a great addition to Mount Hua because she became part of the healing team. And we'll see her more often in the future since she'll be part of the squad going on adventure together.
(I kinda ship Yu Iseol and Tang Soso tbh, their interactions are really cute, Tang Soso relied on Yu Iseol as they're the only women in Mount Hua).

I haven't really talked about Sichuan arc yet since this has been already long

No prob! I forgot the translator's site but you can see it in novelupdates since I also just clicked it there. There's also another htl from lightnovel, I think that's around 540+ chapters but the rest of the chapters around 600-1600+ are all mtl

It isn't much angst but we will see a glimpse of chung myung's past life especially with his close friend, tang bo which was a part of the Sichuan tang family. There are some funny scenes but most of it are quite emotional
