Ryouji-senpai was held captive...
That flaskback when the stalker talks to Ryouji-senpai was when he kidnapped him.
I mean... why would the stalker decide to stop staring from afar, go and reveal himself? He decided to change things, to get closer to the center of his obsession just to confess?... i dont think so...
Then the stalker was the one who send that break-up text to Motoki, not senpai. (See his face when Motoki told him they broke up, when he says "i see... so we broke up" ughhh ;; he didn't know! that's why he was acting so naturally around Motoki, he really believed the were still dating).
The stalker isolated him. Cut of any way of communication (I dont know what you have to do to end a contract for an apartment, maybe he made Ryouji call to break the contract... idk).
Is possible Ryouji was being drugged (and/or threatened, how else do you keep someone captive for such a long time?) and that later generated his memory disorder, but he remembers some parts of what happened to him.
Ryouji-senpai managed to contact Kasukabe, using the landline from where he was (maybe stalker's house?) when the stalker wasn't around. It's not like he ran away and called his friend from time to time... and tell me, why would he just ask about the guy he broke up with? (Well maybe some people do... but they tell their friends how and where are they, right??)
He didn't tell Kasukabe about what was happening to him for the reasons above (threats, or he was so drugged he only wanted to know about Motoki) or because he felt so disgusting with himself he didn't want anyone to know or to suffer bc of that. ("I only wanted to show you my good sides...").
Anyway, years passed, he was raped (everyone knows that) and one day, when he was trying to escape, the scuffle happens, someone took a photo, called the ambulance or something, etc. Anyways he ends up in the hospital...
and then we know how it goes!

It make no sense that if you can make a call you dont use it to call the police or ask for help but to chat with a friend. But everyone can imagine whatever since the story leave that in blank. I rather think he was in another dimension where time goes faster and then decide to go back for some random reason. (/・・)ノ
Frankly, I don't have much of an opinion on this story. If I wasn't so lazy, I would go over it again carefully to see if I could make any sense of it. But I am lazy. Sooo, yeah. I just thought this person's explanation made some sense at least. (Most manga don't make sense anyway, the ukes and semes do weird things)
