What can Noona offer Nakyum that is better than his current situation?
I'm seriously wondering what she's offering as a better life for him. Her only suggestion so far was going back to following and loving Sir In-hun, and we already saw how that turned out. Is he supposed to go back to the kiseang house? He's naive because he already grew up there poor and illiterate. Going back will benefit him how? What's different about the kiseang house now? Bodyguards? Lol
"You people" that was rude & presumptuous. I did not propose a defense of the "problematic ship". I merely asked a question. Your answer is vague. And do we really know these things wouldn't happen to him outside of that house? Do they not rape and abuse at a kiseang house? Enlighten me if I am mistaken.
I never defended his current situation. I am simply asking what is she offering him that is better.
Honestly my point is Nakyum, in this time period, is kinda screwed no matter where he goes. He would be choosing a lessor of two evils. His plight speaks volumes about his socioeconomic status. His life could suck anywhere.
I could understand either choice he made. Choosing to leave the abusive & offensive environment he is in for maybe no abuse and a life of poverty. Or staying in the warm room with the good food & good dick! CTFU
No, my answer was not vague at all. You are just trying to create trouble for no reason, looking for things that don't exist in the story.
Na-Kyum managed to live for at least 18 years in that house without being raped or sexually assaulted. He had never even witnessed sexual acts, that's how sheltered he'd been.
We know that because as readers, we are privy to his thoughts, and also because both Seungho and Jiwha called him out on being completely inexperienced in sex, as it showed in his drawings and his reactions. When Seungho raped him for the first time, Na-Kyum also confirmed once again that he had never done anything sexual with anyone.
We also know that at the time, homosexual acts were severely frowned upon. While nothing is impossible, there's little chance that a client would come to a kiseang house to rape a male relative of the kiseangs. Clients come for the women, not to rape a random man barely out of teenagehood. I also assume that at the time, there were other places they could go if they were looking for male prostitutes anyway. Furthermore, Na-Kyum grew up in a loving household and was closely monitored by his kisaeng sisters. You have seen how Heena is raising hell and risking her own life to rescue him. There is no indication that she'd ever put him in danger.
So that should answer your "question".
Now obviously, we don't can't possibly know for sure that "these things wouldn't happen to him outside of that house". Just like in real life, there can be danger at every corner. The author also has the liberty to put Na-Kyum in danger whenever she sees fit just to spice up the story.
What we do know for sure is that ever since Na-Kyum got kidnapped by Seungho he has been:
-raped repeatedly and so brutally by Seungho that it once put him into a sort of coma for an entire week
-had his wrist injured by a vicious servant because of what Seungho had done to his eyes
-got physically assaulted by Jiwha because Seugho dumped him harshly
-got slapped and punched by Seungho
-verbally berated by his stupid teacher because of the sexual acts Seungho has forced upon him
-threatened to be sliced in half by Seungho just for saying goodbye to someone
-almost gang raped because Seungho ordered it
-forced to stay in Seungho's house by Seungho
"Do they not rape and abuse at a kiseang house? Enlighten me if I am mistaken." I was answering your question, please keep up. Once again: No, they won't rape and abuse Na-Kyum at the kiseang house. This is valid for both before and after the kidnapping. That's just the facts. It is also facts that the only place where Na-Kyum is being raped and abused is where is right now, which is at Seungho's house. It is also facts that Na-Kyum is not safe at Seungho's because Seungho, who is his rapist, is there. Seungho also doesn't have the capacity to protect him from others, as we've seen when No-Name kidnapped him easily.
So between being potentially unsafe from Seungho's enemies at the kisaeng house or between being unsafe from Seungho and from Seungho's enemies at Seungho's house, the best option is obvious. Facts.
Btw, I have never said that the story is going to end with him living happily at the kisaeng house so I don't know where you're getting that from. You seem to enjoy making things up.
I don't know how the story is going to end and neither do you.
Jowoon: I love you. Haesoo: Well, I'm thirsty.
