What was with the latest chapter and her attempt at cooking? It just made her seem stupid af. Is it quirky or cute that she can't even do something as basic as cutting bread or that she attempted to poison the prince with her cooking? Like she didn't even want to eat it herself what makes she think its suitable for human consumption? Not to mention she wasted so much food. I don't even know why i got so annoyed at that scene like girl just stay out of the kitchen and leave it to your servants like you always have.
i mean she never had to lift a finger let alone be in a kitchen to even watch how food is made before. she is a little too dumb and is bad at listening to luke but she just wants to give back to the prince with something she personally made, i commend her for that. this whole story is about lily learning how to be a better person through trials so it makes sense she won’t know what are basic knife skills and how to balance flavours. she was a spoiled rich girl up until the sorry starts, so she has to work with what she has.

The cooking scene is just the Shoujo genre's version of the beach episode, and it gets squeezed in the plots even of fantasy stories like this where it doesn't fit because readers and the publisher expect it. Each shoujo must have the MC cook to prove her love by using her womanly cooking. If you feel philosophical you could analyze how this cultural expectation shows in Japan women are only seen as worthy of love if they do household chores. I choose instead to just enjoy the silly out of place cooking scenes in Shoujo manga and move on with my day though.
A few things I'm finding annoying so far.
1) the ML and how he won't stfu and leave the MC alone
2) Middle aged boomer old man romance with highschool teenager
3) 5 seconds of 'revenge' then old man MC acting all buddy buddy with the bully who drove bro to suicide
4) old man MC not even trying to act like a teenager and calling everyone student or kid then acting surprised when people think he's a different person.
5) so many weird set ups that are just ridiculous and hard to believe.

Everything was going really well until the rape. There are thousands of ways to create tension and conflict between the ML and the FL, so why must these authors always resort to rape as a plot point? Not only is it poor story telling, it literally makes me feel so disgusted towards the ML and fear for the FL. A man or woman who turns to sexual violence when they are 'under stress' is not pitiful, nor attractive, and certainly not forgivable. Never mind that there was not even a proper apology!

I didn't say this rape is better than the other. I said, other story was built worser than this. Worser in terms of build up, characters, settings and of course, even more extreme traumatizing scenarios. THIS IS SO GOOD SO FAR!!! The MC is smart, resourceful and resilient!! And very funny as well!! The ML is the type that makes these stories the most fun. He's funny, sweet and goes along with the MCs shenanigans. This is a must read so far probably one of the best I've seen this year!
Why the MC gotta be so powerful and act like she knows everything that's going on, then completely fail some way or another and need to be rescued multiple times. Sometimes its not even the character's fault more like deus ex machina from the author.
Exhibit A: chapter 3 when she's trying to save the other girl from drowning she's so overconfident that she neglects to take into account how weak she is and nearly drowns but is rescued by some guy
Exhibit B: she gets lost in the alleyway, and she's about to enact revenge when her past fiance swoops in and rescues her. Also ew why is he blushing at her she a CHILD. (Not her fault this time)

You can argue the technicalities that they weren't together, etc. but I believe there was an expectation from both parties and that he knew he was in love with her yet decided to sleep with other people.
