I do like that this story uses the concept of the flow of time much more effectively than Sousou no Frieren. Probably because we are taken so early on into his adventure outside the forest and see far more interactions with a variety of characters. I also do like the ripple effect of his actions and how a simple phrase he gave might not quite land the same in the ears of someone with a shorter lifespan.

The story is poignant and the character growth trickles in a way that is quite heavy sometimes. Though he is faced with the consequences of his choices thanks to outliving majority of his friends, his motivations stay the same. Help when he can. However, I do like how he feels more cautious and mindful of possible repercussions that he's most likely going to witness down the line.
