It is clear that yoshiki was in love with hikaru, he wasnt fitting in the village due to his feelings and author made it so clear. And hikaru loved yoshiki enough for "hikaru" to accept his last wish. His desire to be with yoshiki. This is clearly bl. Just because they dont hold hands and kiss doesnt mean it isnt bl.

Now hikaru feels things for yoshiki, but he doesnt know what he is feeling. Because he doesnt have human concepts. So author keeps it ambiguous but it is once again clear that yoshiki is also accepting everything because he wants to be with the new hikaru and even if it means accepting him as a different being and loving someone else than his childhood friend. I would even say it is quite romantic watching a "thing" experiencing love and a human experiencing loving something beyond human understandings. Hope we have a good ending where they travel the world together BUT I DOUBT.

Feel like nowadays people need everything spelled out for them. This shit is romantic asf if you read it with your heart.
